Limo on last day of school

Agree with those comments - arrange with the other parents to change the type of limos so that your son can fit in (and what about the other child who has been excluded?)0
-
Bottom line is if the other parents WANT to make it work -they will.
I think at this point I would be involving the school govenors and as a last resort the LEA (who have very strong inclusion policies in general) -as excluding two children from an event that starts from school IS a school matter.
Part of me would want to get the local paper involved and shame these selfish parents publically-however that could rebound on your son at his new school so realistically it isn't practical .
You wouldn't just be doing this for your son but for children in future leavings too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Ha ha, I've only read the first two pages of this thread and now realise that the school my two go to must be super chavtastic because they've done the limo thing on the last day of primary for about the last 20 years to my knowledge (they used to do it when MIL worked there before my two went there). DD will be partaking of this next year when she leaves too. Limo takes them to ten pin bowling place half an hour away then they stop in a caravan park club on the way home which has a play area and they (and parents) can have food.
I know the mother who has arranged it this year (the school don't get involved) has had a load of hassle organising it because you have the parents who moan like hell but aren't prepared to put any effort in to organising it themselves. But obviously having one main parent doing the organising means that all sixty-odd kids in the year are included unless their parents don't want them to go.
Personally when I left primary in nineteen eighty dot spitthere was nothing, you just walked out on your last day and that was that. I've got no issue with making it a bit more memorable.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
OP I really wouldn't leave it there, with respect I think you need to fight his corner a bit harder on this one. Limos can take more than the numbers given and if the will is there it can be changed now, leave it much longer and availability may be gone.
I agree with Duchy, this should be a school issue if they are allowing the Limos to collect from school. I am a school governor and I would be horrified if I thought my school were effectively colluding with this exclusion by doing nothing or not speaking out about it. Time to rock the boat!!0 -
There are hummers that can take 16 but they are all booked up, apparently the last day of school is the busiest day of the year for these companies. I have found a company that have limos available to take him to school but parents aren't willing to pay for their child to be taken to school in a limo and have another one after school which is understandable because it all adds up.
My son is happy to do something different, especially when he has so much choice.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Well on the basis that your son is son the cusp of young adulthood, why doesn't he ask his friends why he hasn't been included?
They'll come back probably with 'its all down to my mum' or the equivalent of, but it might make his friends ask their parents if the ops son can be squeezed in, which will be far more face saving (I mean can you imagine the chants of he's getting his mum to fight his battles?) for him2014 Target;

I don't understand - if it's not an issue why start a thread on it in the first place? If it is an issue then you need to make a stand against this passive aggressive bullying.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -

I don't think it's chavtastic as such, but where I live (on a midlands council estate, not posh!) it's something that only chavs do. Out of 60-odd year sixes there will only be only 1 or 2 limos.
I don't turn my nose up at chavdom though, and I know some very nice chavs. We'd find a Harley much more exciting than a limo, but others might think it was naffActually, of all the suggestions I like the ice cream van idea best :rotfl:
