It's such a loooooooong way off for me :rotfl::T:rotfl::T

However, I'm going to a friend's 50th in May - he has been looking forward to this birthday ever since I've know him (12 years).

He is spending time in the run up to his birthday contacting people who have made a significant impact on his life (a couple of ex wives, old friends he has fallen out with etc). He is going to let them know the (positive) impact they have had and how that has formed his life.

They'll all be invited etc and then we'll be cracking open the Whiskey and having it large

    For me; Vegas Baby :j:j

A superb suggestion there DannyBo. Been there done it though, for my 18th. God what a fantastic trip that was.

Got suggested to arrange a do by a friend as I wasn't going to bother - tried arranging it, no takers. Ended up doing nothing.

  • I would love going to Vegas For my 50th (only 2years away eeks:eek:). I would also love to go to Graceland, or to see the Northern Lights.

Nothng. I was working 200 miles from home and even if I''d been at home I'd have done nothing. You need somebody/people to do stuff with really. Didn't do anything for my 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th or 50th. Nobody's ever interested in doing anything with/for me so they slide by.

I think, for my 30th, I might have bought a cheesecake and stayed in bed all day - and ate the whole cheesecake with a big spoon.

I never did anything for any of those birthdays either..

    my 18th I had a 3 month old
    my 21st I was 30 weeks pregnant
my 30th I had a 1 month old baby and my beloved gran had just died

I guess my others will follow suit. I've never even been out to the pub on my birthday not ever.

    That's even more depressing :(

Then maybe do the other thing I mentioned - life begins at 40 so you could wipe the slate clean and let the people from your past how they have affected you.

And then have few drinks :beer:

Or: crank up a Celine Dion Cd, and a few bottles of wine and sing from the top of your voice Alllllll byyyy myseeeeeeeelfff. Lol :rotfl:

Oh the Northern Lights are something else, truly stunning. Do try and do it, you wont regret it.

I feel all wrestless now, this thread has made me want to pack a bag and go off travelling again immediately.

What about Iceland Marisco? That's not too far away.

ETA: or is that where you saw the Northern Lights?
