you will need to debrand it using NSS (nemesis i think) and change the product code and run NSU on it again

Thanks for the quick reply - this being some software you can pick up somewhere online presumably? Is that one or two steps (debranding and changing product code)? Thanks for your time...

My question though is are all DKU-5 cables the same? I have looked on ebay for the cable and there are some advertised specifically for unlocking this phone

Well I just tried the cheaper of those 2 to unlock my N70..didn't work.
Software reads the phone no problem but wont backup or write log (bad connection error). It is a "Prolific" cable with 6 pins. Contrary to some of the posts in this thread there are other forums where people have used 6-pin DKU-5s sucessfully, just not me

When I unzipped this file I got a McAfee msg saying it had detected a Backdoor Trojan and as a consequence it blocked the file. Does the file have a Trojan or is McAfee being over cautious? Can anybody email me this file as an attachment instead?

can Nokia 6700 be unlocked? i asked a mobile stall holder and he said its very difficult to unlock this type of nokia....and wanted to charge me £35...compared to a price of just £10!
