    Instructions:
    1. Connect DKU-5 or normal COM cable to computer
    2. Set proper COM cable port (must be, between 1 and 9)
    3. Download unlocker, run `install.bat`
    4. Open file c:/bb5_unlocker/logs/bb5_unlocker.cfg (Open this with notepad) and enter here proper COM port (1-9)
    5. Run c:/bb5 unlocker/BB5logunlocker.exe (looking at the video posted this part is done in a dos window,Start, then ALL Programs, then Accessories, then Command prompt and then run the program direct from the directory, not from windows)
    6. Click READ PHONE
    7. Click MAKE LOG, log will be created
    8. Enter codes to phone (in /psw/ dir), or
    9. Click SP UNLOCK to enter codes via FBUS

  • Has anyone been able to unlock an N71 using bb5 software? I have 2 of them that I cant seem to unlock for the life of me. I've tried 3 diferent DKU-5 cables (1 Prolific, 1 generic, and 1 original Nokia), 5 different computers, and several different drivers. I.ve been reading forums trying to figure out whats wrong but still no luck. I'm starting to think N71's cant be done. If anyone has been able to unlock an N71, could you please tell me if you had to do something different for N71's. It wont even read the phone (just get the "check FBus...") error. Its baffling because I can read (and have unlocked) my 6680 just fine so I'm pretty sure its not something obvious. Thanks in advance.

This isn't a free unlock but thought I'd pass on this advice for unlocking the Nokia 6300. If your contract says you're not allowed to unlock til you've been with them for a few months this is what you do,

    1) Find a pay as you go sim card with the same network
    2) Phone the network with that number and ask to get your phone unlocked (cause you're going abroad or whatever)
    3) Top up the prepay with £20 or whatever they charge
    4) They'll email you the code to unlock within 2 weeks

I felt frustrated as a customer that my network wouldn't let me unlock the Nokia 6300 so found this way round it.

Apologies if this has been posted before but there are 12 pages in this thread to read lol.
