What do you mean "pay t mobile"? Do I have to fone them and request the N70 be unlocked?

you can phone them and pay tmobile for the unlock code, or do it with the software posted in the thread

It's my mum's phone and I very much doubt she'll understand how to unlock it from using the software posted in this thread. I certainly found it difficult to understand

Any idea how much t mobile charge & does their unlocking involve this software?

ok ive got an n70 on orange i have the data cable but havent got a clue where to start.
I have tried to follow the link on the first thread but i cant i need this done by the morning! anyone care to talk a real thicko through it bit by bit as simple as possible?

hi

you need the full 13 pin dku-5 cable with drivers. then follow this after geting all the right BB% unlocker download fiels from first post.

Make sure you have installed the drivers and under device manager it has a com port between 1 and 9.

Instructions:
1. Connect DKU-5 or normal COM cable to computer
2. Set proper COM cable port (must be, between 1 and 9)
3. Download unlocker, run `install.bat`
4. Open file c:/bb5_unlocker/logs/bb5_unlocker.cfg (Open this with notepad) and enter here proper COM port (1-9)
5. Run c:/bb5 unlocker/BB5logunlocker.exe (looking at the video posted this part is done in a dos window,Start, then ALL Programs, then Accessories, then Command prompt and then run the program direct from the directory, not from windows)
6. Click READ PHONE
7. Click MAKE LOG, log will be created
8. Enter codes to phone (in /psw/ dir), or
9. Click SP UNLOCK to enter codes via FBUS

I found that after debranding and unlocking my 6680 and after debranding my N80 (both on 3) that I was unable to download anything or stream anything (on 3 but probably would be for any network) until Id set the network access point in Realplayer, kept giving me a message of "define default access point first" when tried to stream anything and on downloading stuff just disconnected.... even though this is already defined in the connection settings. Its in realplayer...which I cannot find anywhere on the phone menu or submenu on my N80 or 6680, but accessed it when playing a video from gallery, pressed stop and then options>settings>Network, it allowed me to choose the 3 access point. Now I can stream but I cannot download -just says certificate error. I just read this on another thread

Like any sim free phone being used on 3, it me regoginise the portal, but you wont be able to download anything handset specific. For instance, if im using a sim free N73, I wont be able to download games or MSN or skype, as my handset doesnt have the right certificates to tell the portal what handset model it is.

My DKU-5 cable is broken (one of the plastic edge connectors broke) but can anyone tell me If I switch the product code back to the original will this make any difference or is it due (as Im guessing) to the debranded software

edit-yes its down to the software, the phone doesent have the certificates to download stuff. Guess Ill just have to put up with it or reflash it to 3 software!
