Help needed please
I have 6111, lately it's been coming up with the message “phone restricted”, I can clear this by removing the battery and restarting. The phone was bought from The Link on O2, still using O2, this is the 13th month, hence out of warranty.
Any suggestion on how to cure this please?
I was thinking of firmware upgrade could resolve this, it’s on V03.45, 29/11/05, any one know where I can download the latest firmware and instructions on how to upgrade?
Thank you in advance.
i thought nokias had a 2yr warranty like SE's.
anyway a service center or local unlocker should be able to reflash it for you0 -
i've checked the thread and i still cannot find the cable i'm suppose to use for the n91, the n91 does not connect with the dku-5 cable, it came with a usb to mini-usb cable. so can someone help me figure out what cable i'm suppose to use, and if it is the dku-5 cable how do i connect it (i dont have one but if i need it ill go buy it) to my n91.0

Does it not have any other type of connector apart from the mini usb? I think its called the pop port connector?ummm...0 -
if the n91 doesnt have the pop port connector then think it may have to be done with jaf type box (or similar with com port emulation).
i have read on other forums that it has been unlocked with this s/w0 -
i am pretty sure theres no pop port connector. i also have this ca-44 cable which can plug into where i charge the n91 but i dont know what i can do with this cable. it seems like i can plug in another cable into the other end of the cable, like it is most likely a converter
what is the jaf type box? is it a wire or a program? and is there any place i can find it? thanks for the help0 -
Hi,
I am new to the forum as you can see from this post so hi to all.
However I am not new to mobile phones as I work in the industry.
I have a copy of Dejan's software but I can't seem to work it properly.
I am using a laptop, PS3 USB cable which works & recognises the phone. As the 6300 has a mini usb port, I don't understand why I need to use COM ports to use the cable & the software. If it is a serial cable that I need I don't think this is possible as there is not one on the market to buy.
If anyone knows or has unlocked a 6300 with this software and the USB cable I think the Nokia one is called a DKE-5/2 can they please post some useful info on here & help me with the quickest & easiest solution for me to get my phone unlocked.
Lastly I realise that this phone is not listed but I have visited the GSM Hosting forum & people have claimed to unlock a 6300 as it is a BB5 phone & also the the nokia N90/91 both have mini usb ports instead of the old pop ports.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

a jaf box is a device for unlocking and flashing phones.

ok so without this jaf box theres no way for me to unlock my phone? so my only option besides buying it, is finding some one with this box? i'm guessing major companies like AT&T and Tmobile wont do it?0

You have a couple of options, one look for a small mobile unlocking shop / market stall, they might be able to do it cheaply... £5-£15. Alternatively depending on if the phone is still on part of a contract your service provider might be able to give a code to unlock, again they are likely to charge for this service.ummm...0
