Well I've been with quidco for many years without too many problems but decided foolishly to give tcb a try early last year.
First off in the last six months or so absolutely nothing tracks and I mean nothing, everything is now a claim which completely wastes my time. I'm totally convinced that this is done on purpose by tcb to maximize profits as some people just can't be bothered to chase claims, quidco on the other hand tracks everytime which I'm now using more often.
I had one claim for car insurance where it was stuck in "waiting for merchant" for god knows how long, so in the end I decided to send a "Letter Before Action" notice to their head office giving them 14 days to settle or I would start a small claims action. Sure enough on the very day they received the letter the claim went suspiciously to "confirmed" and it's just been paid out. My advice to everyone waiting for claims that should have been paid a long time ago is to do exactly what I did, as the last thing tcb wants is to go to court.
As for the closure of the forum, my guess is that it won't be seen again, if it does indeed appear then all the negative posts would be gone and you can only post positive comments.
It's a shame as tcb used to be good if not better than it's rivals.0 -
@Gaffy, a lot of what you say I've also experienced and can easily back that up.
It is a shame tcb have dropped and appear now to treat their members like schmuks!
The closure of the forum could well be from several points.
As you have done (lba and threat of small claims), others were also posting they were considering the same (probably frustration). Others stated they had contacted Trading Standards and many were having to contact the merchants direct to get what they were owed. I also believe that the merchants may have wanted the closure (or at least the removal) of posts which could be considered 'damaging'. The removal and closing of certain merchants pages (simply opening up a new page) backs this up. Many reviews of Direct Line have simply vanished (piff, paff, !!!!!!).
If tcb aren't trying to hide anything, then get the forum (and past posts) back up.
But well done Gaffy for your persistence and achievement. :TNo payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.0 -
Hi there,
@Hurri, thank you for the feedback, I am glad that I have been able to assist with this
@B_M, Direct Line have improved the speed of payment for transactions made with them, but we will continue to work with the network to get any outstanding amounts to our members. In regards to the forum, I have taken a look into this further for you with my colleagues and it has been decided that the forum will not be reinstated. After reviewing the situation while the forum has been undergoing maintenance, we have found that we are able to assist our members more efficiently via the support ticketing system than we could when questions were being asked via the various forum threads.
@Gaffy, tracking is done via the merchants affiliate network and can be affected by the settings on your PC or browser. In these instances where you are finding that multiple transactions are not tracking for you, we do suggest clearing cookies, ensuring any ad-blockers installed are turned off and also, we do advise ensuring that you purchase directly, if you use a search engine prior to making your purchase, the sale may not be attributed to TopCashback. The claims process itself can be long-winded and we do rely on a resolution being passed on to us from the merchant and their network before we can pass this forward to you, but if you do find that you are waiting longer than the 12 weeks estimated from the date a claim is submitted for this to be resolved, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Care or Claims Team who would be happy to look into this for you.
Best wishes,

Never in the world! Who could have predicted that. lol
And all that 'maintenance' going to waste (3+ weeks of work).
Can at least the reviews for DL be reinstated? If not, is this pressure from the merchant or are the reviews damaging tcb finances? No payments from financial products from cash back sites? A warning to all!
I purchased a sim only deal via top cashback and the checkout process showed that it should give a cash back of £48 and this went through the checkout process.
Initially it showed as £10.50 in my account. When I queried it the whole amount changed to zero, without any explanation.
Multiple emails later still no real explanation despite me having the proof of the amount that went through the checkout.
Anyway my patience has run out so I've closed the account so be warned guys they really aren't worth using.0 -
I have used topcashback consistently for a few years without any problem, no missed payouts...until I bought car insurance through the website with AXA. I chose the policy for a combination of price and cashback. My cashback never came despite confirming the click through was there. When I did a missing cashback claim the claim was rejected without a reason.
I also, a few months prior bought a life insurance policy through Legal and general because of the cash back. I clicked through and followed all the correct procedures. That also never credited me and again my missing cashback claim was rejected without any reason. I can provide proof of both policies.
I am starting to believe that this is an insurance inducement scam. The only cashback I have never been credited with in 2 years usage and they are both insurance policies.
I will never use them again for insurance.0 -
No surprise there that the forum has gone for good, with all the negative posts it was obvious it was putting people off from purchasing, it's probably the same reason why quidco doesn't have a forum either. Incidentally one can still leave a bad review for each merchant which is what I did, have to wait to see if that gets deleted as well.0

I've always been paid, but the last few years I've had to get the money myself by either issuing complaints of mis selling to the merchants or by going to the Financial Ombudsman Service when the merchants (only a few) wouldn't cough up. But 100% success so far (2 still outstanding, but not yet due), but that's down to my work and not tcb's. I use tcb as an aid to achieving usually higher rates.
More and more are thinking it's a scam though and the woes on the (old) forum were relentless. I was actually asked by CAB if I thought I was being scammed and was advised to contact Action Fraud if the non payments persisted! I think it's just tcb's inability now at receiving and passing on promoted cash back in a reasonable time. The marketing material (timescales) is at times laughable compared to what actually happens (if it happens).
So never ever let a financial purchase go unpaid. In fact never let any purchase where there is an Ombudsman linked go unpaid. There is help out there, maybe not from tcb, but from regulatory bodies.
Put in complaints and you will see results.
I think this thread will be very busy now, since the closure of tcb's own forum. But we can still all help one another and highlight issues and warnings to others. No payments from financial products from cash back sites?
