  • Hi there,

@justlooking2012, I am sorry to hear that you feel this way, the decision to close the forum was not made until after the maintenance on this had begun, we do feel that we are better able to assist our members via our support ticketing system

Do you seriously think for one minute that any of us believe the above? It was TCB's idea of damage limitation, because the forum was becoming full of people saying how their cash back had not been paid, how they had to go direct to the merchant, how they had to complain to the ombudsman, how the merchant ha paid but TCB had failed to pass that money on etc.
I think whoever has made the decision to close the forum has made an error though as now what was kept in house on TCB's own forum, even to the extent that you could not see the complaints forum unless you were logged in. The complaints will be spread around various social media, mse, hukd etc.

As for the money I am due, TCB can keep it, the way things are going they must need it more than me.

@tcb, at a guess, I'd suggest April or May. But the remover will or should be able to confirm when it was removed.Btw, I did leave a comment for a rapid (rare) payment. Will that be removed also?

@justlooking2012, I believe you are 100% correct. The forum would have been closed down due to damage limitation as the woes were escalating daily. There were many posts advising to contact the merchants or the regulatory bodies. Basically we had to get the cash tcb couldn't or wouldn't.
But they've only opened it up to a much wider audience now!
No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.

@Wayne3765, I can assure you that we will do what we can to get any cashback to you as expected, however, as mentioned in your quote, we are not able to provide any guarantees on this which I do apologise for. In regards to your Green Insurance transaction, thank you for confirming this, I believe that what I previously said could be the case, however, I would need any written correspondence to be able to look into this further for you.

    Many thanks,
    Samantha

Between TCB and Green Insurance there was definately only one side that appeared open and honest , keeping me informed of what was being done to find out where the money was and that was Green Insurance ,TCB didn't help but just kept asking me to wait more time.

With what I've read about TCB recently I believe Green Insurance were telling the truth when they said the merchant was paid in October.
  • Good afternoon,

About 12 months ago I used TopCashBack for a lot of purchases that resulted in around £1000 worth of Cashback - The instant it reached over £1000 my account was automatically deactivated and my account closed down. I contacted TCB to discuss this and they just responded with "This was done due to expected fraud and cannot be reversed". I did this through my business and was told that I could not use TCB for business use. However a few weeks ago I received an eMail from TCB suggesting I use the website for business purchases and for a company who had no record of my email address I find it very surprising that they had my email to send me not only the mailer about business use but also a satisfaction survey.

I used the website in good faith and I would like to get this issue resolved.

    Hi there,

@Browntoa, that makes sense now, thanks for clarifying :)

@justlooking2012, I am sorry to hear that you feel this is the case, I can assure that it is not, it was harder for us to answer any questions that members had on the forum due to the format, that we felt it would be more beneficial directing these via our support ticketing system. We are more than happy to answer any questions that our members have via any of our social media platforms. If you do change your mind at all and would like me to take a look into your transactions for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

@B_M, thanks, I will take a look into this for you now.

@Wayne3765, I am sorry to hear that you feel this is the case, as soon as any cashback is received from the network, this is passed straight on to our members.

    Best wishes,
    Samantha

Mentions has been made of both F.O.S and Trading Standards, a third way for members of Topcashback to "get" Cashback for legitimate transactions done in response to TCB advertising/promoting Cashback on behalf of 3rd parties is via Small Claims Court.

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?354870-Topcashback-at-it-again&p=4245644&viewfull=1#post4245644

"Issue a small claim. Sorts the wrangling out and you get paid" ( Login for small claims court guide)

Mentions have been made of TCB guides and T+C, as :money: has pointed out on numerous occasions a company can put whatever it likes in its T+C, doesnt make it fair and doesnt mean it cant be challenged.

Facinating reading the case of the deleted review being as a factual/non abusive Santander review that I posted approx July/August 2013 was deleted, my only crime it would appear was to state that Quidco had at that time suspended all Santander promoting and called on TCB to do the same in the interests of many of its members (including me) getting their 6 Months + Santander claims resolved.

Good luck to everyone chasing Cashback owed, dont give up on it, you are "guaranteed" to get your cashback via various external 3rd party sources that have been mentioned on this thread assuming the Cashback Site which is this case is TCB hasnt paid out in full out of its vast profits before then. :money:

@tcb Samantha, thanks. Wouldn't it be ironic if the review couldn't be found and reinstated? Surely that wouldn't happen would it?

@bristolleedsfan, nice post and I think a few were considering Small Claims (hence forum down). For financials, the FOS route is good as it saves taking legal action, though a letter before action to tcb should really resolve issues. I like the idea of financial merchants being charged that £550 FOS referral fee (if not resolved) as it would mean a loss on the product and all for simply not paying what they offer via affiliate marketing via their agents.
I go along with your 'guaranteed' cash back and only not consider it to be guaranteed for returns / cancellations / use of a discount code etc. For genuine purchases it must be guaranteed and for non financial issues, I definitely would consider lba / small claims route.
I'm expecting to chase up another financial issue next week. I have to pay an annual £25 for the product and it's promoted as 3 weeks payable. The cash back will cover the £25, but will the company allow me to delay paying the £25? I think not, I'd be charged. But I'll allow another week before complaining direct.

    Hi there

@bristolleedsfan and @B_M, thank you for your posts, in regards to the reviews, I can confirm that I have been able to locate your Direct Line review B_M, however, this has not been displayed as we felt that this was not factually correct and no correspondence has been received from the FOS regarding your transaction. Genuine reviews, no matter how negative they are, will always be displayed for our members to view, however, if any comments do not relate to the purchase made or the progression of your cashback, then these are not displayed.

The 3 weeks payable that you are referring to is just an average based on how quickly the cashback has been received for previous transactions, this is in no way a set time in which the funds will definitely come through and we have been sure to make this information available on the merchants statistics. As soon as the merchant has produced the cashback, this will be reflected in your account.

    Best wishes,
    Samantha
