I got some eggs given to me so have saved some for cakes and passed the rest on to family.
I could do with sorting through the kitchen cupboards. They are all muddled up foodwise, now I have DH in the habit of packing away the shopping straight away.
Chucked some cardboard into recycling, catalogues etc and had a tidy up.
Family looked after DD yesterday and when we went to pick her up there were toys all over the place (goddaughter was also visiting). For the first time in my life the mess made me want to tidy.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Wow, lots of progress being made by so many people!
DH took the kids swimming yesterday and I sorted a car full of stuff into the car and took it to the tip. They've got a clothes recycling bin there in aid of the Salvation Army and so I tool a sack of old clothes and linen for that too.
I've arranged for a friend to come round and help me sort the kids' toys and artwork. It's not a big job, but it will be so much easier to have a mate there to keep things upbeat. It's also lovely to know that people care enough to help."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Good news about the suncream, I shall get onto that once I've finished using the after-sun cream, arris-about-face as per usual.
Excellent progress being made all round by the sounds of it.
I've been gardening in glorious sunny weather and have cleared an area 2 x 2 meters off the Alpine Carrot Bed. Have another 6 m long bit left to do. Have been shifting soil levels with a landscaping rake and reckon to have moved a tonne of soil, easily. Have also done a dump run with an IKEA bagful of rubbish grass on the back of the pushbike. The only happy thing about dragging heavy stuff around by bicycle is that you get to freewheel past all those cars queueing to get in.
Am doing a deep clean of the kitchen atm. Well, taking a much-needed break from the deep clean, waiting for some surfaces to dry before I can put stuff back.At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hey everyone, I have been lurking on email for months and I miss you all!! Just haven't really found time to actually come on the forum since JULY!!
We are going backpacking in 16 days and have to move out of our house and put things in storage whilst we are away (gulp!)
Don't you just love the conversation with the storage people when they don't believe how much stuff you have and they book you a medium unit even when you ask for a large?!
Just wait until she sees us turn up with van/car load after car load...:rotfl:
Anyway, my sister has been up with me this weekend helping me clear stuff, its been a good start.
Few bits on freecycle, big bag of clothes for cash for clothes, lots of things to crack on with selling...It's going to be a busy 16 daysDon't turn a slip up into a give up

Wow, that sounds like a trip of a lifetime - hope you have lots of fun!0 -
Yes, have a wonderful time, suzitiger! We'll look forward to hearing all about it.
Didn't think I'd have any time, or feel up to, any decluttering today, once I'd cooked a roast lunch for 6, trotted round to the market to stock up on last-minute 50p fruit & veg, emptied the car & replaced all the unsold stock from yesterday's market where it belongs, cut up a huge bag of apples & quinces to cook down, collected the very last of the blackberries etc. etc. BUT was suddenly seized by a need to empty out the cutlery containers on the draining board! Now I've put some things back where they should have been and thrown away the other 9/10ths of the kipple in there. A small thing, which took about 5 minutes, but has left me feeling a tiny bit triumphant; every little helps!Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

Oh lorde lord. Today's been intense but we've made lots of progress -
Three loads of laundry through the machine and onto the line. Just have to get them in later.
Emptied two large military lockers and put one outside for the council to collect. Cleaned the other for it to go on ebay tomorrow.
Emptied a small chest that acquired woodworm and left that outside for the council. Miffed because it would have been useful, too, but woodworm's a PITA to get rid of.
Emptied a chest of drawers and left that outside for the council to collect.
Emptied a bookcase and moved it into mother's bedroom.
Emptied another bookcase and moved it into the kitchen to photograph it for ebay tomorrow.
Moved another bookcase into the living room (it has three watchers on ebay so fingers crossed!).
And we sold a soap dispenser on ebay so I'm v. pleased. :j
Now it's time to find my pictures from my trip to Sweden and make an internety postHow'd everybody else do with their decluttering?

It's bucketing outdoors today so all the plans of plodding about and pruning have evaporated....so, I will attack the pile of till receipts, check for the ones I need to keep and bag the others for the fire. Hopefully I'll have time to file the different bank statements. I am aiming for a really tidy desk as I want to get on with some on-line courses I started over a year ago this winter! My desk is tiny, lol.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0
