I was just catching up, feeling guilty for not having decluttered anything today, when I suddenly realised, hang on, I've been working, selling stuff & passing on some of it to my fellow-stallholders who will make stuff with it! So two huge bags of old wool blankets, vintage curtains, tapestries and other textiles have gone off from DS1's room, never to return, and I think that does count. (Next time I see them they'll be parts of fabulous, unique bags and cushions and generally things to die for.) And that's as well as the stuff I was selling to the general public.

Which is just as well... because my feet are so sore I'm wondering whether I'll be able to stand tomorrow. First time in "proper" shoes this autumn, and they have half-crippled me, even though they are soft & properly fitted & were quite expensive; I think they are cut too skimpily over my toes, one of which is currently quite swollen and another sits too high after a break some years ago didn't heal quite right. I've never worn them for a whole day before and doubt I ever will again; they may get themselves decluttered onto Ebay whilst I search for a proper cobbler!

PS {{hugs}} to all in need, Pigpen & Seigemode particularly.

RadioHorse, I have some suncream from July 2013 and was thinking I could use this up as a handcream (I only put handcream on at bedtime). Can you (or anyone) think of any reason not to do this? I hate waste and it was a grudge purchase anyone, blinking Ambre S0laire, cost a few squid.

Ouch for your sunburn, btw. Am a rapidly greying redhead, so have to hide from the sun

Am a natural blonde/redhead with Irish skin colouring so feel your pain! I'm sure you could use it in the UK as sun cream if it wasn't the height of summer (May time, if you were out gardening or such), and as hand cream, I'm sure it would be fine. I would just not take it anywhere hot or use it as my first line of defense against the sun.

It seems the older it is, the less protection it offers but that's personal experience. Others, of course, may have had different experience :D

Awww, that sounds horrible. Time to put your feet up. I vote we should all pile in and help declutter siegemode's biscuit box and have tea and coffee.

    :T And I second that!

I shall put the kettle on and delve into the broken biscuits. They were bought as broken biscuits, which is great, because the calories fall out of the broken bits and thus they are as virtuous as celery. Even the chocolate covered ones.:D

A very dear friend told me this some years ago. She's a lovely lady and we can't cast nasturtiums on her honesty, now can we?

I'll declutter those biscuits for you pigpen. I wouldn't want you to suffer eating them.

Decluttering has come to a complete standstill at this end. Will someone shout at me please or perhaps a swift kick up the bum. The sewing room still needs to be sorted and I was going to do it this afternoon as the weather was foul, but it cleared up and I ended up taking the little one for a walk.

    Oops.

Sorry, Parsniphead, I think that taking the little one for a walk is an excellent thing to have been doing! Little ones don't stay little for long, but the clutter will wait & can be decluttered tomorrow.

I'm no scientist but can't think of any reason not to use the suncream as handcream. If it has been opened, the smell might be a bit off that's all. A couple of years ago I used up a couple of old, half used suncreams on hands, feet and knees and came to no harm. I am not a readhead but am pale with blue eyes and have to use the kids factor 50 in the height of our summer even for a very short length of time.
  • I also decluttered a box of medicines, found four strips that need to be taken to the chemist on the next run because they're out of date (2011 is the record so far but we shall see:o), and cancelled a netflix subscription that I didn't really ever use. Decluttered the hallway a bit, and the kitchen, moved two wooden units with mother's help, and she did a bit in the living room.

Three bags of laundry later, a stripped and mostly remade bed (I swear, I'll do it before I go to bed) and I think that's me done for the day.

    I'll do the shredding tomorrow. I promise.:A

I've been doing just the same for years. Saves a few quid on hand creams. ;)
