Sorry, I'm going to be MIA for a while, as some of you already know.
    :-)
Our dog managed to get onto the railway line at lunchtime, had an argument with a freight train and lost:( . After some tests, she has suffered brain stem injury, and even after surgery, she is unlikely to recover consciousness.

My darling, darling, Chloe, you know that you are beloved, run free and out of pain at Rainbow Bridge. Your dad and I love you so, so much. I know that we couldn't be there on your final journey, but we thought that after being in pain for seven hours, you needed to be pain free, above us being with you.

We love you Chloe, you should have had so much longer with us. We love you baby boo, I should have done more to keep you safe.

I'm so sorry to hear this, poor Chloe :( Big hugs and take care of yourself during this time, I'm sure most of us can relate to the pain of losing a pet, especially in tragic circumstances. x

I'm so sorry for your loss - what an awful thing to happen. At least she is now free from pain & distress - take comfort from the fact that she'll be there, ready & waiting for you on the other side x

    If it should be…

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can’t be won

You will be sad I understand
Don’t let your grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stands the test

We’ve had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
Would you want me to suffer? So
When the time comes please let me go

Take me where my needs they’ll tend
Only stay with me to the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see

I know in time that you will see
It is a kindness that you do to me
Although my tail it’s last has waved
From pain and suffering I have been saved

Do not grieve it should be you
Who must decide this thing to do
We’ve been so close we two these years
Don’t let your heart hold any tears

ModestyB - how beautiful, thank you for sharing x

Hi sorry for disappearing, lot of rubbish being thrown at me IRL and just battened down the hatches for a while.

So sorry to hear of people losing pets and loved ones, my heart goes out to you, remember to be kind to yourselves (( hugs))

Lots of progress still to be made but feels more do-able in the sunshine.

Keep up the good work everyone, you're all doing so much (sorting the emotions and the actual decluttering)

Love this thread and all who post. xxx

    MrsAto Be,

I felt tearful at your post so I can only imagine how it must feel to you. You gave her a happy life though.

Metalswan, keep lurking even if you can't be doing right now.

Been on work meetings all day and have come back to a lovely clean table. We have a fold up table that I also use for work, and we are making the effort to put it away over the weekend and whenever we can at other times. We can only put it away now we have the space to move it.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

A few weeks back my PC nearly died (I love my little PC repair guy who fixed it for me!), and I realised that it's the only machine I have available to me that actually has a floppy disk drive, so since then I've been on a bit of a mission to get everything off the 60 odd floppy disks I own onto the hard drive. Sounds a simple task but it's taking ages as almost every disk is totally full!

It's amazing what I've found so far. My first CV, job applications for work experience/first graduate job, writing I did as a kid, pictures, photos, uni essays and so on, dating back from 1997 onwards. Parting with some of it has been strangely very hard (I'm an emotional hoarder so make unfortunate attachments to memories). I've kept a few things but trying to get rid of as much as possible. I'm fine with getting rid of much of my clutter as long as it doesn't have an emotional significance. If it does, I really falter. Who thought a simple task like this could be so hard!
