I would have kept them awhile to rediscover my crossness.

Brilliant! I'm glad I'm not the only one that did that.

    Now I don't. Life's too short. :)

(apart from when OH keeps talking to me when I'm trying to draft an application form and I can't concentrate on what I'm trying to say so he then tells me I'm getting stressed)

Today a fairly small but satisfying declutter. A friend who is out of work had been asked to provide some new clothes for her mother who is in a care home and doubly incontinent. The friend would be re-imbursed, but still has to buy the clothes to start with and it was near impossible for her.
Her mother still likes to look smart so charity shop stuff is pretty much 'out'.

I had a good ferret in my wardrobe and found a smart, roomy blouse and two long skirts with elasticated waists to fit her Mum. I'm sure I could probably find another few items too.
Friend was grateful and I have a bit less clutter. A win-win situation.

    My ostrich feather duster arrived.

This thread has changed me. I could never have imagined saying it but... my duster is so beautiful in the way it shimmies. So everything has had a good dusting, including the children! (Now the glass is dust free you can see the smears so it's not perfection yet)

I have washing in the machine, and the dwasher on. The kitchen is clean although the floor could do with a wipe over. Just have to hang some clean washing on the dwasher.

Got some vitamin tablets today to give me a boost as I have an irritating cough. But all is fairly good.

Tiny declutters going on, mainly just throwing out replacements quickly, dealing with post quickly and packaging etc.

I just realised that I never checked out of ostriches are harmed in the making of it. You kind of assume that some organic hobby farmer is collecting them occasionally as they fall out. I'm scared to google it now as the feathers are pristine.

Apparently the ostrich feathers collect the dust whereas chicken feathers swish it. I have been reading flylady.

They farm ostriches for meat.. feathers are a by-product.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you clean an ostrich feather duster?

I'd imagine in the same way as you clean a standard feather duster - by giving it a damn good shake outside, pref. on a windy day. Unless anyone knows different?
