    Hi all,

Just having a giggle at the Ostrich Feather duster comments :rotfl:

De-cluttering currently taking place in the Bobbly household.
    • De-cluttered the first of 4 stone in weight
    • Scanning and shredding all paperwork, filing only those that need originals
    • Using cut brash from dividing hedge in garden, to weave into stems to close gaps in hedge.
    • Job for next weekend is pull the folder camper out, photograph and list all items for sale with it, ready for free listing weekend. We no longer have a suitable towing car :(
    • Once camper is sold, all sorted items prepared for garage sale in lovely clear garage space. Hubby very keen on this project as means he will have room to tinker with motorbikes.

I'm keeping on top of the housework and laundry, and taking 1 de-cluttering project at a time. I feel overwhelmed if I try to tackle all at once by doing a bit on each every day.

    Happy De-cluttering and Spring cleaning.

I also cleared out the fridge and freezer at the weekend, cleaned the fridge but do need to defrost the freezer, although it's not too bad, we're going to meal plan and shop with a proper list from now on. :T

    Hello one and all,
Its been a while since i have posted due to no internet and a dodgy computer when I did finally get internet, sighhhhhhhh.
But its been all go here,
-4 charity bags have gone out of the door full of clothes and there are another 3 waiting to go with books etc in
-big stack of books waiting to go on amazon trade in or ebay
-The garden has been decluttered and weeded at the weekend
    -lots gone on freecycle today
-guest bedroom sorted (well the bed is clear, still a bit to do)
And I am switching between stellios and secret eaters to inspire me to do lots today. I'm actually having fun.
Keep soldering on (ummm sp?) everyone because once you get started with the small stuff the bigger stuff gets so much easier!! I promise!
    You can do it!

Oh great, I had forgotten I have Stelios to look forward to.

I've shredded a small pile of out of date paperwork today. (Out of date as of today, in fact, so I guess that means I'm on fire).

Had a hugely disorganised start to the day as DH hadn't realised he had a shift today so was an hour late, and had spread his grumpiness to the whole household by the time he'd left. It meant he couldn't drop DD at nursery so I lost an hour walking there and back.

Had some disappointments with work things on Friday which preyed on my mind over the weekend but I am busily looking for the silver linings.

I have been working all morning so I think I'll do a bit of straightening the house now as a break before cracking on again.

3 bags to the charity shop today

Mostly stuff from a sort out DD had (not that you'd notice from looking at her room) and some odd bits and pieces I found whilst rummaging. But it did include a cardi my mum bought me and which was one of the last things she ever actually went and chose herself. However it had got too small and there was a run in the collar but I was still hanging on to it. Finally, the other day, whilst wearing it, I decided that it is really too small and not what I would wear now.

So i've washed it and given it away (without mending the collar in case I changed my mind) and I am OK with it.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

spent the one day of "spring" on saturday sorting out the over-winter garden damage, bay tree, blackberry and raspberries repotted. All pots with plants top dressed and pots with dead plants and grass in emptied completely. had a fire in the outdoor woodburner with a friend and got rid of half the being-removed decking.

It is now back to the grey, drizzly, horrible weather that dominates between "seasons" so back inside and have nearly finished panelling in kitchen (one dodgy joint to fill and paint). am struggling with a desire to keep the odds and sods of leftover panelling "just in case" - in case of what I'm not sure, because it's all too small to be useful.

a bootfull of cardboard to recycling centre and ex has requested that he pick up one item of his belongings on tuesday (I am hoping this is the start of a trend and he requests more).

have had a number of not very well thought out impulse buys for renovating the hall which I won't get round to using for at least a year, I really have to stop this and finish the outstanding stuff before buying new things for the future :(
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
  • Hi all,
Just decided to pop in if that's okay with everyone.
I started the huge declutter chez Nit nurse in November after being told I could have free loft insulation when I changed energy provider.
We cleared about 75% of 23 years of stuff:eek::eek::eek:
Some was given away, some recycled and some tipped:T:T:T
Since then I have been on a roll:D
Shoes decluttered- around 20 pairs.....Why I kept some that hurt feet or completely worn out is beyond me:mad:
I have taken literally 100's of books to work and any that are not claimed in 2 weeks will be taken to the CS:T:T:T
I have given away doubles of my kitchen paraphernalia- That was painful:(:(
I aim to keep going and will hope to continue as you all are.
    xx
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

Got Ch4 +1 on for S.Scrimpers and Stelios. Got rid of 2 new, read once now unwanted books to the library along with 4 books/radio programme/comedy shows on CD, also to the library. I was a bit worried about one of the CDs (risque) but anything unsuitable is passed on to prisons, apparently.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Finished off the court stuff relating to DD today. I'd had enough and, although I'm not happy, it is a relief to have it over and done with.

I promptly went out and acquired some new things. Clothes, actually. but that is in some part due to decluttering 3 stone since January. Only tons more to go. And I spent 35 minutes trying to find something suitable for court this morning that wasn't going to fall down or hang down like a sack.

As my new jeans bought at the end of March are already feeling a bit loose (but hooray for fitting into cheapo jeans for the first time in 20 years), I thought I'd better get a second pair. Plus a t shirt to replace one I've ruined (one in, one out basis), a light scarf for those slightly chilly late nights I have now, some hair dye in a ridiculous colour and some new nail varnish. And some more earrings.

I just have to worry about the clothes I bought for this coming weekend's gigs - if the jeans are anything to go by, they're going to be way too big. :(
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Sounds like lots of us are doing well on the declutter front, keep it up all :)

Really chuffed as some of the baby clothes I didn't sell at the sale the other week have just been sold to a girl at work - she's picking them up tomorrow and I've offered her some of the larger sized clothes too. A bit of extra cash and some more space!

On the not so good side, I was determined to sort out the garden this year (new patio etc), got a quote last week which has come in at £2.5k! Totally out of my range. I was hoping to sell the house next year so it looks like yet ANOTHER summer with no real patio area to speak of. Sucks :(
