Hoarding - Springing Ahead

I feel a bit rubbish today so am staying in bed. DH cheered me up by announcing that he is going to sort out his man-drawers today. Those are where he keeps his paperwork etc that I don't go in.
Dehoarding by proxy is great (if it gets done).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I brought a tin of white paint to refresh the woodwork in the one clear room in my house. When it's done I can get the old singer sewing machine I decluttered from a skip years ago and abandoned at mums to out in there. It's very beautiful and I would live to repair or so I can use it. I will get that room painted tomorrow while the little one is at kindergarten. It's impossible to gloss with him around.
The only other thing got rid of today was money from the purse.:mad:1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

It impresses me so much when people can repair things. I am absolutely useless at things like that.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Parsniphead, there's very chance that that machine will work, and work well, without much effort from you beyond some WD40 (sprayed inside, not out) and a wipe over with some Swarfega. Then some fresh oil in all the oil holes and you're away. Unless it's electric; they're a bit more complicated & temperamental!
Have been hiding from this thread... hangs head in shame. I'm not going to say, you should see my garage, because no-one should, ever. Or DS1's room, though the bed is usable - just - and there's room for the heated clothes drier, which is just as well, as there is quite literally nowhere else it could go. It's not good, and it's getting me down. But the alternative is for me to get rid of all my stock & go & work for The Man again, and that's not good either. I don't want to rent storage, because that's dead money, and there will be room again once the summer's over & the students have gone home; we didn't know DS2 (plus girlfriend & furniture) was moving back in when we said we'd have them. So - moving stuff on, little & often, & trying to keep my head above water...Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -

It's not electric but an old treadle machine and it's action is beautiful, very smooth and runs nicely. The old lady who it belonged to used it until she passed away. Unfortunately the people who brought her house just threw everything into a skip including this machine, but I pinched it back out. There are a couple of pieces missing which must have got knocked off when it was thrown out. I need to try and source some bits. I have been thinking of buying an old one and taking the bits off it. They tend to go quite cheaply.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

evening all, just trying to catch up on everyones progress,
had a busy 3 ish weeks,
been cleaning and tidying sorting, babysitting, dog siiting and housesitting for a friend for about 10 days, witch i didnt feel like i had much of a thanx for. see if i learn for next year when i am asked to babysit on the event weekends.
brought nan back home with me last week, had a few days out and about that has realllllly tired me out, too much too quick i think, can usually do one day like i done with nan but would need a few days to feel like i got over the outing but didnt get that inbetween days out, altho i will say i did kinda enjoy the day out at churchstoke market/booty on sunday, the place was absolutely huge and took good couple of hours to walk round it.
had abit of a barny with nan on saturday night tho.
she likes watching the true movies, and there was one baout a owman with depression that needed treatement, and my nan kept on and on about how someone like that should be allowed children, i tried to say but she was ill, and she knew she needed help and asked for it, and not every one is undiserving of children, she was trying to do what she thought was right, but my nan had her views, and considering im on meds for depression and anxiety, and seeing a councilor, i was getting upset over her comments but she didnt see that.
so hubby stuck up for me and said but not everyone is the same, it affects different people differently, and unfortunately he had been sorting out his fish tank at the time and as usual when he does that he was a bit red faced, so my nan got all offended and the redness in his face MUST have ment he was angry and it scared her.
so i said that had nothign to do with it, cos his face goes red like that everytime he does the fish tank, his face goes red whenever he does any type of work,
should have asked so when your hot and your face goes red should i automatically think your angry over something, but i didnt, didnt know if that comment would have helped.
but then i had to explain about me, and she wanted to know why i had never told her, and i said cos of comments you just made about someone you dont know, cos the last time i was really bad, the only friend i got in this area stopped talking to me, and the family i have in this area also decided to stop talking to me.
that people dont understand it, especially cos it snot something that can be seen, so when people do know and stop talking to me why am i going to tell everyone im ill.
i also told her her comments made me feel like i t was a damn good job i couldnt have kids if that was how she felt about things like that.
but she said she has always said it was a shame i couldnt have kids cos i would make a good mother, i just said well i dont know that ive never been given the chance, and the one big difference there is you know me, but you didnt know her, and you dont know what circumstances made her go the way she was. you just had the story of her depression an dont what couldnt have contributed to it.
i think i managed to get things smoothed over, but hubby thinks she over reacted, i do a little, but i think she was having a coupel of bad days as it was gramps birthday last thursday and it is his first birthday since we lost him.
on an upnote tho, we finally manged to get the shed i been threatening to do kinda sorted.
didnt do it properly but tidied it round a little, and got rid of 4 large black bags of random carp out of there. went to get my outside brush as i was sorting my plants, and hubby had put a pot of paint in there instead of the one it should have been put it, and he had ba;anced it on something, and it had fallen and the lid fell off, so it went everywhere. all over the floor, his bike, the garden hose that miraculously appeared from nowhere. and anything else random that was under it.
but now its mostly sorted and at least tidy, it will probably be left like that for some time, but at least i can now get in there when i have to.
should really delcutter the nettels and weeds form outside the small shed, but not sure how to go about it other than weed killer, and i quite probably shouldnt use that due to the neighbours little ratty dog always using that area. maybe i could and fidn some sort of board or something i can block off the area with to try and stop their dog going there.
well hope everyone is ok.
im thinking im going to try get an early night, only took nan home last night, and even tho i slept quite a bit when we got back (almost 12 hours) im still feeling rather drained. seen my councilor yesterday morning and first thing she said was am i ok im looking rather tired.
oh before i go, does anyone know the site where you can get the freephone telephone numbers from for companies like eon etc spent nearly 2 hours looking earlier with no luck and i know they are out there someone lol.

anirtak.. that sounds a long hard work conversation to have with your nan.. tbh, I gave up bothering to correct my nannas out-dated views a long time ago, the only time I did pull her up was when she made a very rude comment about my friends mixed race partner when she met him at my house.. totally un-pc word was used (not the n word
) and I told her off.
I have sent the little glass cabinet off to my sister!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!! I had a little space for about 15 minutes until I slid the sideboard over to fill the void. It was lovely but unused so a waste of air space, I might need that bit of O2 one day!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Not every number's free but you should be able to save a bit of money by calling the standard landlines and not calling the 0870 and 0845 numbers. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
mornin'. bins out (in stair-rod rain), grout for floor packed away along with some other diy bits and bobs. some bags and boxes by the door to go to cs and recycling centre. went through some random paperwork whilst collecting some evidence for the tax credits people and binned the unnecessarys (most of what they want I have on paperless billing so pretty easy to find!).
main childminder back from hols today so back to work and hopefully less mess generated in my house (and more in hers - sorry!)

digital decluttering this morning whilst our scaffolding is erected for work to the roof and chimneys.
had a message via gumtree asking if I'd be able to deliver one of my items locally. Hoping to drop it off tonight so that is a bit more space made in the junk room :j Have spotted a few more things that I could potentially list if they clean up well enough to sell.
baby steps but they're in the right direction :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
