Lots of good decluttering done lately - well done everyone, keep on going!
Today I have dismantled a very large robot - a junk modelling project by my 2 lads. Had to break it up when they were in bed so they wouldn't be upset. It had been in residence in their bedroom for weeks and the space is needed.
Two pairs of very battered, old shoes bagged up ready for shoe recycling bin. 3 big toiletry bottles recycled (buy BIG cheap shampoos, bubble bath etc from Sansberries and decant for everyday use)
Got kids involved today as well - couple of recycling bags worth of their unneeded stuff.
Yes it does feel good to get shot of unneeded stuff and the more I do, the more I see and the more I want to do. I have a lot of other tasks that need doing tomorrow and some fun to be had with my boys but at least one item will be recycled/binned or rehomed tomorrow. Got to keep up the momentum whilst the going is good!0 -
Well I have re-arranged DD's room and tidied it up a bit. Her and DS are spending 2 nights up at their friend's house so decided to do them both while they were away. Plus I've to make up the 2 spare beds for their friends to come down and spend Wednesday - Monday with us while their parents go off of a holiday.
Anyhow, we had 2 old desks up in the attic so I dismantled those today all by myself, managed to keep the 2 sides of each desk, and have now got 2 lovely new bedside tables. Onr for the attic, and the other for DD's room. These have drawers in them so come in handy.
The other sides of the desks have 2 shelves in them, so one has went to DS's room for him to store whatever he wants on them lol and the other, again will stay in the attic. We are setting our attic up as another bedroom so haven't had to spend any money on those small but efficient additions lol.
It wasn't until I actually dismantled the desks that I realised how good the wood was so the top of both desks have been set aside and DH has said he can cut them down and use the wood to make some shelves for DS and DD's rooms. SO really the only bits remaining of the desks is the backs which is thin plywood.
I'm really happy with that today lol.
Tomorrow we have been issued with a weather warning........... now usually I don't take notice of these as I'm usually disappointed lol. But I hope it does rain like mad, as it will mean I can really tidy the attic get it set up and cleaned up/hoovered etc.
Then will make a start on my own wardrobe and get rid.

A very demotivated day yesterday and the most I managed was to de-clutter some of the dirt off some of the windows. I couldn't even be bothered to eat anything much.
I have decided to give the bathroom a good doing over first then onto the kitchen before taking mum to the doctors and popping to W1lkos for some white gloss paint.
I really want to get at least one room finished completely and a big kick up the bum is going to be needed I think and a jar of nice, strong coffee.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Righty, back just after 10 am (went out at 7.30 am) and have decluttered the dentist, the hairdresser, the library and the shop.
Have also decluttered a pot of tea, will put something boppy on the player to motivate me and settle down to cleaning up in the kitchen and then turning some ingredients into food.
Cover me, ladies, I'm going in!!!!!!!!!!!!!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

all dish and hand towels washed and drawers cleaned out, even that whole little cupboard done, floor and walls and all! Project for today is putting all items back neat and tidy and remind the girls of the tea towel strategy
weather seems lovely again so will need to declutter the veg plot rather than the house.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
How good is ABBA, even these days?! Really enjoying myself.
Have cleaned the doors of the undersink cupboard and couldn't shut the little drawer under the draining board. Short version is I've hoiked everything outta there and wiped it out and am letting it dry. Have cleaned the cupboards and am letting them dry. Will do the floor later.
Have just mended the shirt I tore on the allotment last weekend and a pair of eldery yoga pants I use for scruffing around the flat in. Weeeelll, you can't exacterly do the housework in your designer duds, can you?!
****Goes off and rolls around on the floor laughing******
As I am on a roll, and I amto say I have had the sewing machine and the pile of fabric out since mid-May (I do wish that was a lie but it isn't) I shall aim to get a little project sewing done, too.
Blimey, but the combined effect of seventies classic pop and sunshine is going right to me head.:rotfl: Gimme gimme gimme.........Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ I lurrrve ABBA and when I was trying to think of a more imaginative username, "Dancing Queen" came to mind so I had to be savingqueen which is sung to the same toon of course.
I have sorted through several carrier bags worth of paper tat - even found receipts 10 years old!!! Why I found it impossible to threw out receipts in a previous life I do not know?? Found a tenner in an envelope which fortunately I thought to open up.Second one I have found during the last few weeks going through old paper bits. That's why I have to have a sift through 1st. Doubt a third one will surface though!
Feeling coldy and can't face proper housework but sitting on the floor surrounded by carrier bags is fine.
I looking forward (and that's an understatement if there ever was one) to eventually being super organised and having all the essentials to hand, important stuff together and tat banished to The Kingdom of Tatland for ever more0 -
Sounds like you are working within the energy levels you have available, which is as good as it gets. There's sorting out which involves great big boxes and furniture and heavy lifting, but there is also the little fiddly bits which take the time and can be done when you're feeling a bit poorly.
I sorted the kitchen drawer and had out the greaseproof paper, cling film and foil and taped up two of the boxes so that they'd be functional and discarded the third as beyond redemption. Will just manage, not much cling film left anyway. Have had a good sort out and rehomed one or two things and binned one of two things and the drawer now opens and closes easily.....I know this is an audience who will appreciate that this is not always possible for most of us.:rotfl:
Have done the little sewing project and put the toys away, had a visit from a neighbour and a natter and am now squaring up to sort out a batch of bread rolls, a pizza base and when they've proved, I shall make flapjacks and then bake them off in sequence to get the most efficient use out of the oven.
Once they're made, I have a layer of detritus of the papery sort which was hiding behind and around the sewing machine and is now cowering pitifully from the light as I have exposed it. It'll be gone through and I suspect most of it will be shredded.Don't expect to find any bank notes in there, but we can live in hope.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
