I bought a tie dye vest for DS from Glastonbury when he was a baby. His father hated it so he wore it a lot, lol.

I've not been doing that great with the house project, with both DDs home and summer in the garden ...it's very small steps ;). so there are still clothes on my floor but some will go to CS today and DD1 has found some she likes, so it should not be too bad to put the rest in tidy.
I'm also a non- ironer! If OH wants a shirt ironed he has to do it himself but he knew that from day 1 .
What I have done though was sorting some cds that will go on the ipod, hard copies will disappear. Very small steps but better than OH who is still sitting in his chaos that is his "office"...

Summer in the garden is being productive. You are topping up the vitamin D and the health benefits from this will help with the hard work in the house. ;)

It's a bit like eating lots of milk chocolate which is healthy as milk has calcium and is therefore good for the bones. Plus eating it gets rid of some of the hoard.

And I wonder how I got cluttered and fat.:p

Well I've just had another dumping spree while kiddies are at summer scheme etc.
I don't have a lot of success with selling on ebay. And there are certain things that I refuse to put on at 99p as they are worth far more than that. Think people want things for nothing these days :(
Anyhow I've discovered the scan barcode thing to list things on there, and decided to give it one last shot last night, and as I was clearing out anything I came across that I felt was worth selling (Including a few old Sega games) I stuck on at a buy it now price, just to see what happened.
Have sold 2 bangles, 3 sega games and a Harry Potter thing :T So I'm happy lol.

Also have filled another bag for the bin and one for the charity shop.
My problem ATM now is I need to find a CS that will take a few electrical things near me:think:

Finally got rid of the last bag of videos (to a good home so a bonus.) Another couple of bags of random items in the carboot ready to drop off at charity shop. Even if the journey is done by foot, the charity shop bags (unless there are lots of them) temporarily live in the car boot. Just have to get them out of the house asap in case I decide to salvage any of the contents!

parsniphead, your words are like a hug :) thank you.
rain today with severe weather warning, so either I sprint into the polytunnel and stay there for the day (with thermos and chocolate) orI'll have to do some in the house ;), maybe go through some mags stored years ago in a box (for later...most are work related), put the last clothes where they belong, add anti-moth sheets and maybe vaccum. Don't want to make too many plans in case I get overwhelmed :rotfl:

I have popped up out of lurky land to say that I love this thread and find it very inspiring :-)
I have inherited the hoarding tendency from my mum, and strangely enough half of my brothers and sisters are the same, whilst the other half are extremely minimalist!
    Due to your good example, especially about stopping holding onto stuff 'that I may sell' I have managed to declutter;
    a huge heavy mirror,
    an exercise bike, a scanner,
    computer keyboard and various cables
    an old zip drive
a huge pile of cd roms
    a new tv roof ariel,
    a folding camping table,
    a table tennis set,
    a vcr and remote
to one of the local charity shops
I gave away a printer plus inks on a local facebay page (I looked this up as I saw it mentioned on here)

We are having our chimney fixed, so a whole load of bricks, soil, gravel, has also gone in the skip along with 2 old computers!

I feel as if a physical weight has been lifted from my shoulders, we also live in a house that is too small for our needs, has virtually no storage and is also an awkward shape and design (30's semi)
    Thanks everyone!

I am now going to deep clean the kitchen :-)

    Good afternoon everyone,

Well DDs birthday weekend is at an end. As you can imagine there have been waaaaay too many things coming in versus what is going out, but we will right that this afternoon by sorting the recycling - all that bliddy packaging is a pain in the butt!

A big out today is DDs cot - which has been replaced by a lovely antique wrought iron single bed. I have also decluttered a spare car seat that we had to a friend, and a charity bag nicely popped through the door yesterday so that will be filled in time for collection on Wednesday.

Tomorrow we are staying in all day, and I plan to spend just £10 this week, which I already have in cash in my purse. The bulk of this will go on nappies for DS, DD still has plenty (but boy oh boy do I wish she was interested in potty training!).

If I cant spend 'owt else, nowt else can come in (theoretically).

Keep on resisting the stuffocation peeps

    xx

I know this feeling. Mine started to show some interest this week then reverted back again. stubborn little things aren't they.

No sorting in the house today but loads clipped off the hedge this morning and put into the green bin. I'm going to carry on this afternoon by having a good weed as they went wild while I was on holiday.

    Enjoy your day everyone.

    evening all.

    successes:
*end of lemonade tipped away (was over 4 months since opening and - i discovered, had some mould) bottle in recycling.
    * discovered some cous cous in a plastic container which was great as I thought I'd run out - cooked some up, tasted weird, so the rest is in the bin (must remember to put an "opened on" date on tupperware-ish things, even a year would be a start).
    * binned bread that had gone mouldy, bread bin cleaned and sun dried.

usually, food doesn't sit around long enough for this sort of waste to occur and the store rotation thing has been working well for the most part, but the decidedly unbritish weather has thrown me somewhat. the cous cous is a labelling failure.

finished the final patch of tiling on hall floor the unused tiles are sorted and boxed up in the garden, I am going to see if I can return them to the reclamation yard for some money off another item I want (can only ask right?).

*the old boxes these were stored in flat packed and in recycling.
*(I may have already declared this one - can't remember) "self cleaning" (LIES!!!!) oven, cleaned internally and door fixed so it shuts, *counter tops in kitchen cleared and steam cleaned.
    * all glasses from glasses cupboard removed washed and replace after cupboard cleaned. Bar 2 that are earmarked for cs. Pondering the odds of me developing a taste for sherry in future. Pondering further the odds of 7 off my nearest and dearest developing the same taste at same time. thinking fairly low odds so that's possibly 8 more to be released, ditto the shot glasses.
*son's grey trousers and white polo shirts (primary school specific) divided out and will be in cs bag tomorrow.
*children's washing from the jaunt at paternal grandparents is in the wm. everything else was already done.

I'm feeling very virtuous - house still looks very lived in, but lived in by happy healthy humans, not chaotic, tripping over, humans.

washing still needs to go away though - I may need to invent a new non-wardrobe system, as clearly they subconsciously scare me or sumfink. at any rate - I don't use them.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
