Hoarding - Springing Ahead

Lucy - I live in a hard water area & baths can get in a real state. I use the toilet limescale remover wiped round (DONT get it on chrome taps!) & it gets rid of the nasty film. You can also try dribbling some on the stained areas but be careful & do it little by little & rinse well afterwards.
I'm going to steal that tip silvasaver. I'm sick of spending ages scrubbing mine. It is the only excercise I get though.
No de-hoarding done but washing up to date with only one thing which needs ironing. That iron thing is crazy. I'm a professional dressmaker and spend lots of time pressing but would never spend that much on an iron. I'd rather spend the money getting someone else to do it for me.;)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I obviously overtired myself yesterday as didn't resurface today until 09.00, which is incredibly late by my standards. I'm going to 'listen to my bardy' as those American exercise gurus might say, and take it easy.
Easy will include cooking some things and a bit of tidying and perhaps 5-10 mins of ironingbut nothing too strenous. It's helping that it's raining heavily so I don't feel I should be up at the allotment.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Visitors will anounce when they are coming up soon - I'll have to spend the next days at least trying to make a difference but it will never be enough for my houseproud SIL. She once gave me a cushion as a present which said "I cleaned my house last week, sorry you missed it"....As it's raining today I'll gather up newspaper and magazines. Paper collection tomorrow.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

Be EXTEMELY careful. Descalers can take off the top layer of some enamels and do real damage to the surface of the bath.
I have got rid of the small wally trolley. I bought a new one (four wheeler) but kept the two wheeler because some days I might want to do a smaller shop.
No. The small trolley was old, tatty, the drawstring was coming through the torn hemming and the base wasn't very big. It has just sat in the corner for months as I had the new trolley and didn't want to use the old one.
I cut up the fabric (rag bag) and dismantled the trolley for recycling.
I have put the Lakeland Tap Adapta on my kitchen sink and thrown the old tap piece in the recycling too.
Keep dericharding and beware the kipple. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Sheesh, some people don't deserve to be invited to visit anywhere. Don't bust a gut trying to please the woman, she'll be determined to find fault whatever you do, so let her get on with it. Better you're a bit more rested rather than frazzled.
Have been pottering about today, mostly resting and reading. Heck, will be back at work tomorrow, need to have some down-time. And the place is untidy and I frankly don't give a t0ss right now.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

That reminds me....
When I've finished all my outstanding cross stitch work and I can buy more stuff again........:rotfl:
I want this
Want. Envy. Jealous. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Thanks!
I hope I haven't offended Happygreen by getting militant on her behalf but I hate that kind of behaviour. Have an auntie who does similar things, such as pointing out a cobweb, which causes her to get offered a duster to sort it out herself, which baffles her.........:rotfl:You can really mess with people's heads by introducing them to the spider by name and sharing charming anecdotes of the cute and funny things it does. Dad still recalls (50+ years on) the old feller he worked with and the giant house spider he'd named King Charles.
Actually, thinking on the matter further, we could make the philopsphical point as to ask ourselves; What is our responsibility as a host(ess)?
Inarguably, it is to do our best to make sure that our guests enjoy themselves. If the SIL will get great enjoyment from real or imagined shortcomings in the housekeeping side of her hostess's life, surely it's the hostess's duty to provide (or leave behind) some things for her to find fault with? After all, anything less would not give her the satisfaction she craves and would therefore represent poor hospitality.
Yup, one must always look to giving guests what they want, if it isn't too inconvenient, and some un-done housework can be achieved inexpensively in most homes.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

All spiders in our house are named Matthew, after one which made its home by the front door when my children were small and who was named so that he was less scary. he was excellent at catching flies:rotfl:
