got an appointment for thursday afternoon, spoke to the actual optician, and she said waiting till thursday should be fine, but as its been a while i should get my eyes checked any way, and what i described wouldnt be something she would really say she needed to see me about now.
i think im going to go and concentrate on decluttering some card and bits from my craft stash as i been asked to make cards for someones 102nd birthday. going to try and use the card i started making last year for the 101st birthday before everything hit the fan.
done a bookatrix one the other night she is happy with so just another 1 and a bit to go, 2 if i cant utilise the one i started making last year.
had a headache when i woke up and its been increasing slightly since, dont think im going to be decluttering that beef i took out the freezer last night, will see what i feel like when the painkillers have kicked in :)
used to have migraine type headaches years ago, but someone said it may have been to do with the aspartame in the sweetners i used and the headaches stopped when i stopped using them, this one is starting to feel like one of them. witch means decluttering the carpet of pet hair isnt going to happen today as the noise from the hoover will hurt lol unless the painkillers actually work this time as they rarely do anything more than dull the ache. but im hopeing concentrating on something i enjoy will help a little.

Glad you're getting it sorted and had some reassurance. Did you mention the headaches to her, or has that only come on afterwards? Might be worth ringing your doctor too in the meantime.

Don't worry about the cost of buying new glasses either - getting your health checked out should always come first!

    Take care.

Today I have donated 5 pairs of brand new jeans dumped on me many years ago by a friend I haven't seen for many years.

The cheek of it. Expecting me to sell, package and take them to the post office and then send her the money.

This has annoyed me for years so do you know what out they go.

Sorry I think I needed to rant, it's been grating for years and they have added to the clutter of my house.

    Apologies. I will go now.

Ranting is good - it would have annoyed me too. Was she going to give you any 'commission' for your work? If she ever gets in touch and complains about the loss you can always ask for storage costs :D

Decluttering is tough. Getting rid of your own stuff is hard enough as you get an emotional attachment to it. Getting rid of other people's stuff is tough as you feel obligated to hang on to it.
In effect she has decluttered her stuff onto you, so don't feel guilty about getting rid now. Celebrate the empty space :)

Aha! Found it :) can this be any daily paper? I may have one from the 28th I will check :) the hubbie hoards them for the sport :)

It doesn't matter which paper it is, as long as it is in good condition. My grand-daughter was born then and I intended to get a paper as a keepsake but forgot in all the chaos!

Same reason for the 2011 paper but I know this is more of a wild goose chase :( (I do keep checking ebay, no luck so far)

    Thanks

Parsniphead Well done you for getting rid of the jeans - its not only the decluttering you can see, sometimes its the decluttering in your mind too! I've often found that thinking about something that really irritates you takes more effort than actually sorting it IYKWIM.
I also read something a few years ago about 'toxic friends' who drain us physically & mentally. I think we all know someone like that & I've let a couple of 'friendships' wilt & die because it always seemed to be me who was making an effort & sorting out their problems.
Decluttered some raspberries - some in the freezer & some in my tum haha.

ih8stress, yes i did mention the headache, as i had woken up with it, and it had gradually got slightly worse between then and when i spoke to her.
taken painkillers and it eased off slightly not much, but thats the norma when i get a bad headache. and i couldnt go back to sleep like i would normally do as i been waiting for an asda delivery that should have been here by 8pm and isnt but have to wait till 9 before i can ring again, yet an email i had this morning (only just checked tho) says between 12 and 1. and no one has knocked.

decided to put the beef on any way, as no point in not eating and was the only thing i had planned for today any way.
been trying to make some ribbon roses, not all turning out as i wanted but turned out usable, i think it was to do with the width of the ribbon, so decluttered some of that. had another go at quilling to put some spirals on the card so have decluttered some of those bits of paper as well.
waiting for glue to dry and need to find a sentiment to go on there then that one is done. one more to go. dont mind making random cards, but when i have to make them for someone specific i never know what to put on them, especially when i dont know the person who will be receiving it and im not given any details im literally given free range, no favourite colours given, no favourite animals or flowers, or no list of things to not put on them.
makes it hard incase you use something the recipient doenst like.
but at least shes not turned any down yet and i usually send pictures of the ones ive done before giving them to her incase things need to be changed.
thinking tho this one may have to be rethought, will see once its completely finished.

I've got rid of a lot of clutter but now I'm just getting rid of bits.

The open can of Slim-Fast and the powdered milk to go with it. I don't like it, I never stick with the plan and it was just sitting there on the kitchen counter, taking up space.

What do I do with the remaining 3, unopened cans? Expiry date 10/2014. It makes lousy hot chocolate.

:) Could you perhaps offer the shakes on freegle/ freecycle? People often want all sorts of things.
3 tins of Rich Chocolate Flavour Slim-Fast offered on my local Freecycle.

Minutes before I went to bed for the following night shift, someone took up my offer.

After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing by text, I agreed to meet her in a public place to hand them on.

We met up and I've now got 3 cans of yicky chocolate milkshake out of the house.

Thanks for the tip GQ :D
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

well one card finished rather than 2, couldnt keep my concentration for long. but that a few extra bits that will be leaving the flat soon.

for just a few weeks a year it would be nice to be able to afford to run 2 cars. going to babysit again next week thursday to sunday, then again the following wk. cheaper on the price of petrol to stay there, witch i used as an excuse when i didnt particur;y want to come home one year. me and my husband didnt seem to be doing very well, and not talking and working it out i think exasperated things as if i remember right we both had crossed wires. but obviously things were worked out afterwards.

but it is easier for me to stay there for the 10 days than come home then go back after a couple of days. spose i could take the couple of days in between to try and get to a couple of places and work out the easiest route for me as my nan wants to come home with me and go on day trips, but i get nervouse and have panic attacks when i go anywhere new and feel like im lost and thats not good with passengers, so i usually only stick to routes and places i know.

any one got any suggestions for mid ish wales, with plenty of shops, because as much as i hate shops especially busy ones, my nan likes to look round them, im fine with going to one place, and my nan will go there as she likes to look around charlies there, normally go with nan and gramps around my birthday.

i know nan likes merthyr town as well, but ive never driven round so maybe that will be a place i can go to see how i get round one night while im near there.
last time i went to hereford (wasnt driving then) it didnt seem all that good to me. and nan i dont think is too keen on going there, she not been for years and wasnt keen when she had gone, so dont think she would want to go back.
any ideas what bridgend is like. or can anyone suggest anywhere i can try and find my way to, maybe my dad still got his sat nav and i could borrow it for the week. we got one somewhere, but whenever we have used it it takes us up, down and round all the houses and back again. before it eventually gets you into the area you are looking for and i dont trust it. tried to download one on my phone but i couldnt understand the settings and it didnt seem to have any sound.

Hi, I'm a lurker and I read your posts with interest. They've given me a boot up the behind to work on decluttering my house, not so easy with a toddler, a newborn and a husband but every little helps!!

Ih8stress - is it really important to you to get a back issue paper? There are several back issue websites that you can buy papers from, not exactly MSE but if it's important it you it can be worth shelling out for it :)

Today I shall be decluttering my in-laws back to their house :) they're not so bad just hard work to run around for when I'm already running around after DD, DS & DH!
