I've also identified a place which recycles CDs and DVDs - for when they're too scratched to play/give away.
Even though I have to pay postage, I feel better for knowing that there's a bit less waste going to landfill because of me.
That looks interesting. Think of all the 'coasters' (failed cd/dvd creations) people could send to them instead of binning0 -
First coat of paint is on and the room is transformed. Seems bigger AND cosier, which is a bit strange, as you wouldn't normally associate the two.
Had to run outside to get the washing in. So that is now hanging indoors to air.
Grand Prix has now been switched over to Wimbledon.
Will have to have a tidy up in a minute. Am feeling happy about the room so that may spur me to let go of some of the old stuff.

It took me ages to figure out your name. This is why I don't do text speak.
All the ironing is done.:j I did have to do it while playing catch with the little one though so took longer than anticipated.
I have also decluttered a lavender plant from the greenhouse and into the garden. Also the muck has been removed from the oven. Urgh hateful job.
Tomorrow i will declutter DH off to work, step son and his exasperating girlfriend back to his mums so I will be able to make massive headway into the sorting. I can cope with a toddler round me but the others just get in the way.
I have one bag of clothes so far for the charity shop but may try to find a local cash for clothes place.
I really need to finish painting the lobby and get a curtain pole so I can put the curtains back up then this room will be finished.
I need try try to focus on one area at a time.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Yippee! The bed has gone off with a newly-single mother of 3 small kids, all of whom are currently sleeping on borrowed mattresses on the floor. Two of them will be top n'tailed in it, so it really has gone to someone who needed it far more than I ever was likely to. Well pleased, and motivated now to move more stuff on... I wonder if I can clear enough space in the porch to make DS1's room habitable before the weekend?Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

parsnip head, i get hubby to do the oven i tell him its mans work lol.
fresh coat of paint seems to make all the difference, i found that when i done the bedroom.
does any one else have the same problem as me, im finding it hard to make decisions over weather to keep things or not.
this time its a pot of dried mint 5 years out of date that i found hiding in the back of the cupboard, i had forgotten about it.
used to use it a lot at one time, but not used it in well at least 5 years lol.
hubby thinks if it was seen it would have been used, but im not too sure at the moment.
just starting to feel confuddled again about stuff, and no idea why.0 -
Oh my. He turns the kitchen floor into a swimming pool just washing up, I dread to think the mess he would make cleaning the oven. I have never figured out how so much water gets onto the floor and himself.
I struggle with the decisions about getting rid of stuff to. That's why it's taking so long to get things sorted. Actually I will probably spend more time mulling over a scrap of rubbish paper than a big time.
I'm really looking forward to the next two days, I really want to make a difference before work on Wednesday.
One job I have planned for Friday is getting my bag ready for going back to work. I have the summer off working I. EducTion and tend to dump bag, keys and pass around the house when I get home on the last day and spend the first day back in September frantically looking for them all as I'm about to leave the house.

When I moved last time, I ended up with a lot of dried herbs of dubious provenance and age. So much that it seemed wanton to bin them. So I chucked them all together in a bowl (wasn't even sure what some of them were) and stirred, put them in a container labelled Mixed Herbs and used them to season casseroles and soups. Worked very well.
I'm hanging with the gang on the Fiscal Fast thread and although I'm not doing brilliantly in terms of completely fasting (have spent £1.41 on fruit and veg and 89p on a deodorant this month) it's really interacting in a very positive way with the Stuff.
I have so much and really don't need any more; plenty of clothes, books to read, 3 DVDs I haven't watched, stuff to sew, I could get away with Not Shopping for some time.
I have also eased my craving for sweeties. I nearly bought some chocolate yesterday (had a voucher which expired that day) but just didn't feel interested. I also found the nerve to climb on the scales for the first time in more than a year. It wasn't quite as bad as I feared, I have been several pounds heavier, but still represents a good 4 stone over what I should be. However, if I continue to show chocolate-disinterest, mebbe that will start to come down?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hoarding fat. That's something I would happily get rid of without a second thought but it won't go whatever I try.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

I have heard stories about positive correlations of clutter loss to weight loss, so maybe there's hope for us both.
