I've done some weeding too! Nice to be able to see the plants now, I hadn't noticed the campanula as it was hidden in the weeds before. Felt like a worthwhile decluttering task and rather therapeutic too.

I don't count gardening as tidying ;) - it's my escape from the house!
It's supposed to rain today , so have plans to vaccum my room and re-arrange my small desk. Also clean a kitchen cupboad and fit the new food processsor in. Also read some mags I want to shift and put another few cds on my ipod. Wrap DD1's 18th birthday presents and sort a pile of paperwork I've been avoiding for weeks....Knowing me I'll end up shattered after tidying the kitchen and then start making more mess by cooking!

Got the bins out, even though they were only half full.

Got a big bin of shredded papers out for recycling.

DH didn't manage to get to the recycling centre so that will have to be done later in the week.

Got up late this morning so it was a rush but we managed to get our beds made, dishwasher on, a quick wash in the machine, a couple of things on the line and the rest hung up indoors. (Rainy but it is supposed to be dry this afternoon.)

Got some paperwork dropped off to a friend's house, and another form in the post. These having been hanging around for a while. Somehow the dining room table has cleared itself and stayed clear for a couple of days. Makes a difference when we get home.

Still a lot of jobs that need doing. Have to saw the bottom of the door off as the new carpet is posher than the old and the door gets stuck. This means that we haven't moved the wardrobe back in.

afternoon all, had a hectic few days at my friends, no decluttering as it wasnt my stuff, but i was definately looking at things and wondering why did they have that lol. i got home yesterday afternoon.
the kid as usual was a pleasure to look after, hes only 4, has impecable manners, and very headstrong in knowing what he likes and wants. its just i will say the cartoons get a little boring after the first few hours, especially as they are all repeated and i probably know most them by heart as ive had to listen through the same ones over and over, but give me the old bugs bunny (with a little of daffy thrown in)and will sit and watch with the kids. have always liked th eone with daffy where they argue over what season it is and daffy always gets shot cos of bugsys tricks lol.

had a phonecall while i was away to say my carpet is in and its going to be fitted on friday as his fitter only works fridays and saturdays, so yay i can start on the wkened moving the furniture into that room. my blind arrived to dinner time for the window so will try and fit that this afternoon, or maybe i will wait till hubby gets in from work so he can help.

had to take our old dog to the vets as well yesterday afternoon, she has a growth of some sort on her eye. we have gone with the drops for now to see if they make a difference if not it will probably be surgery to remove it, but im a bit skeptical due to her age in putting her through another surgery.
she had one a few years ago and wasnt too good afterwards when she had a benign tumor from her jaw removed, and when she moved in with us as we had a male and didnt want pups so to be on the safe side we had them both neautured, and the vets we were using at the time, excuse my wording but they !!!!!!ed up big time.
she came home acting as if she was still under sedation, couldnt get her to eat or drink anything for nearly 3 days, and couldnt get her to go up and down our stairs to take her out for toilet. all she wanted to do was lay in the corner and sleep, and the male dog could barely walk due to the swelling from blood build up as they had cut something they shouldnt have. and we knew they had made a mistake when we cringingly asked for the bill, as i had worked out it was going to be around £500 with the emergency call outs fees, tests that had been sent off to check for infection and medications. and the bill came back at less than £100, one call out fee not emergency price (and we had gone back about 5 times due to swelling not going down) and medications. so we knew thay had made a mistake and didnt say anything by not charging us, never been back since we found a new vets who we think believe the animals should come first and they never worry about payments.
we even felt like we had to force the payment on them when our cat got knocked over and his pelvis was broken as when we asked how much our bill was for 2 months we kept getting told dont worry about it we havnt worked it out yet will post to you when we have done it. so had asked them to take a part payment of what we could afford and when we got to pay day without hearing anything from them we went down and asked to pay the rest.
they have also allowed us to ring up and say our dog/cat needs to come in but we cant afford it for 2 weeks, and they allow us to do that aswell. other vets dont seem to allow that, one other one we tried when we asked if payment could wait they asked if the animal could wait till we had the money to take them in.
how nice was that. um no hes either been fighting or looks like hes been shot and he has a big hole in the back of his head what do you think.
he had a perfectly round hole about the size of a bb pellet in the back of his head just behind his ear, and i had been told by someone that holes like that are usually put down to fighting but can actually be a stray 12 bore pellet. plus i knew there was a kid on the estate that had some kind of pellet gun and in the past had been known to use animals for target practice. bit strange that since i know he has moved from the estate ive not had any more incidents like that.

right as my blind is here and my carpet is being delivered on friday i ought to stop procrastinating and go and hunt through my materials to start making my curtains.

i hope every one is ok, i see you have all been busy and now its time for me to start getting back on track as it seems i have plenty to do over next couple of weeks.

Didn't get any of those things done I had planned yesterday....when it rained I did the on-line grocery order instead which took me over an hour (!!!, I really do prefer shopping in a store.... ) and after tidying the kitchen escaped out into the veg plot again. I washed out the "sticky" cupboard, though, where the sauces go ;), I did one thing, Hurray!

7 desert spoons out.. stop laughing! I had loads, I only use 1 sort and the cats have their own.. bye bye spoons!

5 candle holders and a stoppered glass bottle out.

Toy flinging is set back to Monday morning but today I need to boss OH to get the other 2 blinds up in the kitchen before he hides the drill again.

I have 3 binbags, 2 boxes and a baby chair to dump at CS .. all stacked up in the hallway so in the way and every time someone leaves they have to take a bag and drop it off :p

I am looking at sorting/shifting 3 boxes of stuff today and bagging up the bag of clothes for my sister to rummage in.

Anirtak.. I can't see your pic but if you are happy with them then well done!!!!!

:) Another person with the day off.

I have flitted out to Hoxfam with a donation bag and bought some new(to me) stuff, but it was impulsive as I am on a planned programme of replacement of some frequently-used items like pjs and was looking for their replacements before the others are completely knackered.

Well, they're well-worn atm and on their way out, but you can't always drop your hands on replacements which fit in the 50p Chazzer, which is where I have been today and got some good stuff, inc brand new with tags, yay!

Today will be pottering at home and resting quite a bit, as had helluva long day yesterday and am convalescing from a cold. But any little bits tidied/ sorted/ flung is all good.

I have the recycles out in the communal recycling bin and found some beggar had left a large cardboard box (empty) blocking my shed so broke that down flat and posted it into the communal bin, too.

:o Today I saw three identical somethings which I really really liked and would have served a purpose, at less than £1 each, for which I broke the habits of a lifetime and bought new several years ago. I wanted them badly. Have no room to put them and no intention of evicting something else to make room, but it was a hard thing to do.

*sigh* found the perfect thing at the perfect price about 4 years too late. Dammit, that's a tenner I shall never see again.:rotfl:

Keep up the good work, lovely peeps.
