Lovely curtains Anirtak! It does feel good to make things yourself and save some money as well -You must be proud of the work you put in to them. Well done!0

will say i am quite proud, especially for a first attempt. and they are upcycled from old pillowcases and an old single duvet cover. found it quite rewarding after i put them up this morning0

yay for curtains Anirtrak !
I never quite get round to hemming mine (they are all floor length), that is another thing to do on my list!
love that you "filed" the burnt tarts WW, love more that you've flung them now
I have cleaned the trap in the bathroom sink - has been running slow for over a week, I suspected small plastic toys stuck in there and have been repeatedly putting it off. took less than 30 secs, was not too dissgusting (was a cotton bud and a hairclip to blame in the end) and only probably hours of my life wasted feeling bad about ignoring it... hey ho.
some cables in ds's room corralled in cable-tidies which were going begging at work (not really dehoarding, but is organising, and they were free and on my list to purchase and I've thrown the boxes)
bins out yesterday also after missing doing it last week, some things have snuck in as it's dd's birthday next week, hoping that in the wake of that she'll release some older toys (to be fair - she'd really good at this, ds has more of a problem letting go).
off to bed shortly as am very tired.:AA/give up smoking (done)0 -

Today I have decluttered 5 rubbles bags and a huge fire ...
this... now looks like this...
The house is full of soot!! and the back room is full of grit.. OH vacuumed, I shall do it tomorrow!!
I now need a chimney sweep, cement board and tiles!! I'm wanting a wood burner in but there is a gas pipe there so I don't know if it will be safe.. if not, I shall get a gas one and tile the roof of the flue too!! I need a flue liner and a hood on the pot if we get a wood burner.. the cost is going up and up and up.. this was just a quick £40 to cut out a broken fire .. it's getting to be quite the project now!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Wow Pigpen good job decluttering a fire!
We're currently having a new kitchen installed but not sure that counts as decluttering although I have thrown a lot of things away. :rotfl:
I havn't posted in a while. Very stressed due to this being the second week with no kitchen. We're surviving on takeaways and ready meals which is fine for us but I'm trying to keep the little one's diet as good as possible.
I have another exam in a month so I'm stressed out with that and sleeping badly, and there's piles of clutter everywhere in our bedroom as we had the room replastered and some of it still isn't dry due to the leak in the roof reappearing so I havn't finished painting yet.
And breathe."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
afternoon all,
pigpen just know it should all be worth it in the end.
usually i find out how much project is going to cost before doing it, including all the maybes and what if when we start etc, and usually those prices put me off even starting it. like decorating cos i have a rough idea what the paint alone will cost.
actually starting to feel a little impatient, getting it finished later than i would have hoped, but earlier than expected.
will put up before and after pics of this room once im done as i thought taking before and after would hopefully help me not get it into that mess again, just look at the pics and go yeah ok either time to sort out, or if i dont know what to do with something then they will hopefully help me get rid of it so that i dont keep it and let a room or the whole place get that bad again.
well i can hope lol0 -
I usually do the same.. idea of cost etc.. but the fire was taken out yesterday and the chimney tipped soot all over my house so we had to do something!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I love woodburners, but can't afford one here.
Gave away the overgrown plants on my kitchen windowsill. Loads more light is coming in.
Got all the recycling in the car for DH to drop off on his way to work but the recycling centre was closed for quarter of an hour while they did something or other. They always do that - shut at seemingly random moments. I don't know why they can't publish those times. So it means that DH has taken a bootload of recycling to work and then he'll have to get up at the crack of dawn to take it tomorrow as we have an appointment first thing.
The place is getting clearer again. Am trying to talk family members into helping me with a few bits of DIY tonight as a surprise for DH but they don't seem very enthusiastic. Makes me a little cross that they can't actually agree or say no. They are just as likely to turn up at 9pm or not at all.
Have cleaned the oven. Is lining the bottom with foil a good idea or not. I will order an oven liner off amazon soon but until then what is best?
Am making jam tarts with DD. I have used a pastry recipe from my aunt but have ended up with four balls of pastry. I have a sneaking suspicion that I have used the quantities that she makes for the church bazaar!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. i cant have a wood burner they took my chimney out. it was either the chimney was condemned or the coal fire was condemned. but either way they took it, probably would have been cheaper for me to run than oil, but i didnt get much of a choice.
just sorted out all of my recycling, hopefully they will pick it up this week other wise there will be 3 weeks worth of paper at least to be pcked up next week. and my husband has threatened to stop recycling if they dont pick it up again.
also this afternoon/evening i have
found (cleared) my dinner table.
put the dishwasher on
washed the bedroom floor ready for carpet.
run the hoover round everywhere else
and taken the filter from my hoover outside and hit it against a wall to clear it.
just trying to think if theres anything else i can do before i try and get some sleep.
maybe empty the dishwasher if it finishes soon, thought it would be done by now, must have put it on later than i thought :undecided0 -
