I ran out of jam so had to take a tray and a half of pastry to my aunt so she could cook her own!
Managed to get rid of the recycling this morning.

:T Well done Anirtak, make sure you take some time to sit and just admire the hard work.
I've been a bit MIA lately as have been proper poorly with a cold. I did visit family last weekend and took some stuff from here that belonged there, and brought some stuff back. Some is swopsies between Mum's stuff and my own, but others is for me to get off to the chazzer.
Took the first installment bag on Wednesday and have just carefully folded and wrapped a gift and packaged and labelled it (most becomingly, if I say so myself, and I just did) from the gift wrap stash. A few months ago I posted about how I had consolidated a lot of gift wrap into a single plastic A4 snap-pouch and I have visited it thrice this year and found just what I needed.
Obviously, it won't refill itself, and will eventually need to be recharged from other supplies, but it has brought it home to me that I don't need to have humungous stocks of this kind of stuff in order to be covered for all gift-wrapping eventualities. I may move over to one neutral gift wrap for non-Christmas stuff.
I'm popping over to visit family tomorrow and will take this gift over. It isn't to be handed over for a while but I have just the hidey-hole over there to keep it safe and this will mean that I won't struggle with so much stuff on the bus later on. Having cars with that just-sling-it-in mentality is soooo easy compared to public transport.
Mum has told me, apropros of nothing, that she has been sorting out stuff in her bedroom, one particular category of clothing, and wants my opinion on some of it before deciding what to do about it. She's suffering from the cupboards-full-of-clothes-but-nothing-to-wear situation. I'm sure we've all been there at one point, but things have reached a bit of a crisis, obviously, so I'll see what I can help her with.I have finished a book which I bought last December and that'll go out with the next bag. A 2 inch thick paperback, so it'll free up a bit of shelf behind it. I think I'll look for a skinnier one next time, that was a bit hard on the hands.
Keep on keeping on, lovely peeps. I am trying to assauge the panic caused by being on the last deodorant. It's a mini but I've only just started it and they're good for about 2 weeks. My Inner Flapdoodle keeps wanting me to rush out and get the replacement last month - Justin Case.
Tell ya, if we ever find Justin, he'll have a lot of explaining to do.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

gq hope your feeling better now.
i cant believe whats just happened, i was sitting down having a break, reading a little bit, and i cought my engagement ring on my top, and wondered why id cought it as i never have before.
looked at my ring, and one of the stones is missing. they are tiny. but ive just gone round the whole flat on my hands and knees. i found it, but it is so small i cant believe i actually did see it. i even went through all the hair and dust form the hoover as ive hoovered up again today.
it had just suddenly cought my eye when i went back into the back room to have another look in case i missed it.
just hope the jewellers in town will be able to fit it back into its slot.0 -
That was so lucky that you found it.
I have heard that you can put tights over a vacuum nozzle to try and find small items.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Pigpen, congratulations on your debtfree-nessI wanna be in the room where it happens0

ww will have to try and remember that if theres a next time lol.
well i decided to do everything properly, my sister still got my carpet washer, she borrowed it about 2 years ago :undecided so i have gotten a quote for osmeone to come and clean the carpet in the room thats just getting emptied of furniture over the wkend. hopeing it will freshen the carpet up a bit as you can see the complete difference from where the bed was to where it wasnt lol. so tuesday i can move dining table into there and whatever else i had planned to put int here, will have to get my drawn plan out i did to scale, ish, and see what i want where before i put stuff in, all i know is the table kinda going in the middle of the room.
i decided to order an air bed that was on offer, £40 instead of about 400 for a sofa bed is a bit lighter on the pocket. witch should also make the room feel less cluttered, i hope.
well my husband has decided ot have a go at taking the overbed unit apart tonight, and so far looking at the million screws that are holding it together looks like its going to be fun (i say sarcastically lol) should have taken more note when the company put it together for me, but i didnt think i would be moving it as i thought if i did change rooms i would robably leave that in there, but i cant afford to buy another one for the room i am moving everything into.
gonna finish this cuppa i been given then go and try making a start will be less to do tomorrow then0 -
Hi there - I've been lurking on here for a while, hoping you don't mind me asking a quick question.
We have promised my LO that he can have the big bedroom (currently the junk room) for his 4th birthday (we're not being tight, we'll just need 3 months to get it cleared and sorted). I have some ideas about how to clear stuff out (ebay etc) without just transferring the junk into his old room, but there's one thing I just don't know what to do with.
Last year I was pregnant with twins and (stupidly) bought a double pram/travel system from ebay when I was about 20 weeks. Unfortunately I lost the twins at 22 weeks so obviously haven't used it and it's only now that I'm feeling able to face up to getting rid of it. Other baby stuff I'm hanging on to in the hope that one day we are able to have another, but the odds of getting pregnant with twins again, not to mention carrying them to term, are pretty low.
I was going to put it on ebay, but was dreading questions about "my twins" or other such thing, I was going to take it to the local "baby exchange" (where they'll sell your stuff for you and take commission) but I've just seen that it's closing down. I thought about getting a friend to sell it for me but I'm not sure about that either.
Do you have any other ideas on how I could sell it on?

evening/morning sb. i am really sorry to hear of your news, and feel for you :grouphug:
i dont really know what to suggest on selling your pram, i cant really see anyone asking any awkward questions tho if you would be selling it as new. if i was looking at something new if the description didnt state it i would probbaly only ask about colour , size etc. but i will say if it was me, i would probably also be worried about having to answer any awkward questions if they came up.
i would ask a family member to sell, or i would even maybe say that i had ordered/received the wrong the item.
i had bought a few baby bits years ago when i still had hope. made quilts etc. bought safety things etc for plug sockets, doors. kept things on hand that i had been given etc. i have still got the travel cot i was given in my shed, probably no good now its been there a gd few years. and a pram i was also given in my garage thats probably not much good now either. but the small bits i had, i ended up putting in the bin as i got upset every time i came across them hidden at the back of a cupboard, but they were only small items, some of the blankets i had made to keep i used for my nephews when they stayed with me as babies, and the couple of cloaks and shawls i crocheted i donated in a gift basket to a raffle for guide dogs.
im sorry i dont know what else i could suggest, but there are some lovely people on here that might have some other ideas for you.
