afternoon all,
thankyou gq will suggest that to my dad. maybe he can save on the rdiciulouse solicitor fees hes said hes paying. never knew they went that high.
catriona well done on the photos, i kinda know what you mean about it being hard to get rid of them. the only ones i have willingly thrown away are any that had my ex in, not times from the start id want to remember everytime i looked at them.
i have about 6/7 films from about 9-11 years ago, i would like to get developed incase theres any pics of gramps on them, but i dont know if they will come out properly due to their age. and it would be a lot to pay out for them not to develope properly.
i should follw your example tho and go through my external hard drive, and camera disc to see what i can declutter as im bound to run out of space at some point on them.
mentioning washing i should really catch up on my own, but the 2 big blankets the cats decided to sleep on are making it look more than what there is, and the half a load of woolens i was hoping to make into a full load before putting them on to do.
does any one know how to combat a bad traffic area? i was hoping the washing of the carpet would have helped more than it has, i read somewhere the abrasiveness of salt helps but dont want to go putting that on the carpet if it doesnt help.
and does the icecube thing actually work on the furniture indentations that are left behind.
well it sounds like we have a bit of a storm brewing round here, well its either that or some one is moving stuff around in my attic lol, and im going to go see how much the carpet has dried as i would very much like to remove the desk that is annoyingly taking up most of my space in the kitchen. and i want to wash the window in there while my husband hopefully gets started on cleaning the chairs.
at least most of the heavy work is done now tho.
and i would like to get a new steamer as hubby dropped the last one down the stairs for me and it had to go in the bin as the attatchments wouldnt stay on after it was dropped.0 -
I would get the films developed sooner rather than later as I guess at some point you will find it hard to get them developed at all. I know it's a cost but I would look at it as paying for peace of mind.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. pigpen, are you finding that you are pleasantly surprised at the difference when you walk into the house now, or are you not quite at that stage yet?
Glad that everyone is helping take stuff to the CS - that will help cure them of bringing unnecessary stuff home - well it has in our house anyway.
in my back room I do.. it was a shed but now looks lovely.. it even reverberates when you talk in there!!anirtak191 wrote: »i have about 6/7 films from about 9-11 years ago, i would like to get developed incase theres any pics of gramps on them, but i dont know if they will come out properly due to their age. and it would be a lot to pay out for them not to develope properly.

bin them.. the seals on the cartridges will have degraded as will the acetate and there will either be nothing on them or just a very yellow mess.. I developed some after 2 years and they were no good..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Get them developed, I recently took a load of old films to Boots - one was a disposable camera from 1995! - and they all came out except for one. They don't charge if they dont develop.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

6 ebay items went yesterday, I have 2 still to be collected though one has stopped responding so they are getting a snotty message in a minute. The other is being picked up on Thursday.. I have 1 item to post today which OH is being sent to do so he can get a fathers day card off to his dad.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Great going, pigpen, you keep me on track with the little things that make a difference.
Can someone please explain why it took ages of nagging to get DH to write his new work rota on the calendar, every world cup match (ie use of the television) is has been on there for weeks?!
Yesterday was one of those rare days where everything went right. Today I managed to dye 3 white blouses pink by accident. Wouldn't mind so much but we are having photos taken tomorrow and I was going to wear one.
Chucked out a broken underwired bra. I still feel bad about that, but I wouldn't wear it without underwiring anyway and I have a new one!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. ooh I gave DD1 2 bras and 4 tops yesterday too..
WW.. the little things that niggle at you are the ones that make the biggest difference and allow you to look at the next little thing.
Just had a  quote for solar panels.. I became debt free last week, do I need to make myself in debt again? It will be £40-50 a month over the feed-in cheques I'd get over 5 years.. I don't know if I could afford that much a month at the moment.. guess I don't have to make an immediate decision, but I will sort something.. I LOVE solar panels, they are amazing and I want to show my children the planet they will inherit is important.. it's not all about the money its about 'forever'LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I would love solar panels but it is all far too complicated for me.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

I would love solar panels but it is all far too complicated for me.
they are simple.. the basic principles.. in idiot terms as they were explained to me..
They come in groups of 8 on a south or west facing roof.. each set of 8 generates 2Kw of energy per hour.. the same amount as an electric fan heater uses!! so one hour of daylight will generate enough power to operate your washing machine for about 55minutes.. but is the equivalent of boiling your kettle, full to the max, 16 times! .. Even I don't drink that much tea
you have a box in your loft which connects to your meter and the grid. You are paid back about £30 every 3 months for each set of 8 panels you have and they should reduce the amount you spend on electricity to almost nothing! .. you generate £x's worth of electric, you use x amount and get a cheque for generating it.. you use x + y .. you get a cheque for x and a bill for y.. you generate x yet use z.. you get a cheque for x and z goes into the national grid.. I *think* that's pretty much how it works.. though I may be confused or not explaining it well..
That is pretty much it.. ooh, you get a device to keep a tally of how much energy your roof is generating .. all far too exciting for me to comprehend!
I threw out some Godlike knickers! .. My kitchen is starting to look like a kitchen again!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
