Anirtak.. it sounds like decluttering your family from your life was a good decision!! I'd have told them to mind their own business!! How incredibly rude asking where you got the money!! I'm appalled.. you don't have to justify what you spend your money on to anyone!

I've not eaten much today either, a small bit of lasagne at 11am.. I might go get some cereal actually, I'm quite peckish.

Lots thrown out of the garden today.. a dustbin of sticks in the bins.. had to be shared out as it was wet wood so pretty heavy! The rabbit run (that made a huge difference to the space!!, a dead rug, a few binbags of general stuff.. paper that's blown in, wrappers, dead plants, broken pegs etc.. looks like OH is off to the tip at some point.

I have a rabbit cage in the shed and the box of stuff put by for a friend.
I slid a few bits in the charity bag.

I'm very slowly trotting through the mess in the backroom finally!! I sorted a pile of stuff in the kitchen so it is looking a tad less skip like in there too :)

Ohhh,so lovely to see lots of new faces:welcome aboard, everyone. It really is very addictive.

This afternoon I FINALLY got around to sorting out my plastics cupboard.I seem to need to do this every few months (last done in September,I think).Plastics cupboard has plastic boxes in it,each box is supposed to hold different thing:
-plastic containers with matching lids, suitable for school lunches, fridge storage, etc
    -drink bottles and cups
    -shapes for cooking,cutting cookies,etc
    -not-used-every-day utensils:gravy boat,blender,blitzer,a couple of flasks,

Well, after a couple of months, everything starts to blend in with each other.Plastics especially get into all sorts of chaos. And I also have far too many plastic containers still sealed in their original packaging,so I obviously don't need those 018.gif

So,after a couple of hours (not rushed, and with kids running around),it was all in order again:cupboard emptied and wiped down, boxes re-defined,plastic containers married up with lids or set aside (to be given 24 hours to find a partner,or be disposed of),baby cups rid of (have always kept a few for visitors, but not needed for a while now).

I pulled down the wicker baskets to see what was in those:vases, plastic cutters(seasonal,so I had obviously deliberately put them out of the way),blender (not used for years!),and even more still in original packaging, plastic containers .Some were so old they had been bought in Woolworths. How long has Woolies been closed???

I wasn't sure what to do with all these plastic containers. The original plan was to transfer them from newly-sorted cupboard to wicker baskets (so I did this this-out of mind,etc.).Later in the afternoon I realised what I should do.On Tuesday I am going to take all the unopened/never used containers to the kids school.Teachers are always using containers for storing "stuff":counters, pencils, papers, jizsaws, games, beads, craft stuff.....Absolutely inspired idea (even if I do say so myself :D)
Can you come to my school please as I need some new containers:o:rotfl:

Plastics cupboard, that's one thing I've been putting off for a few weeks now. Might do it tomorrow. I've done nothing today but shop:o Came home from work yesterday and we had to have chippe for dinner as I was just too tired.
Fell asleep at 7.30 last night when putting LO to bed and didn't wake until 8.30 this morning:eek: That is SOOOOO not me at all.

Will do the plastics cupboard tomorrow and the kitchen glass cupboard as it's a sight. That'll do me till I get my energy back:o Maybe till the next day off from work :rotfl:

    Good morning

I've done nothing all week except get up, go to work, eat crap, watch tv, go to bed, get up etc etc. Actually I have also paid the rent and Council Tax, and taxed the car - so not a total wipe-out. :o
Yesterday was meant to be the 'new start' and I ......did nothing. Felt rubbish - tired and bleugh - and basically sat all day reading. Not good enough RT!:(
So I'm here reporting for duty - even though I have a lousy headache which two parrots haven't managed to erase - and I'm going to adopt my 'old' tactic of listing three things that I'm going to do, doing them, then coming back to list the next three things. Apologies now if that's boring to read, but it really worked before.
So, here we go, I'm going to:
    feed birds
    wash a bowlful of pots
sort laundry and put WM on

    Back soon

Birds fed; bowlful of pots washed, dried and put away; laundry sorted and first load in WM; cardboard and a couple of supplements put in recycling bins. Playing a Cat Stevens CD while I work - was dancing to 'Here Comes My Baby' while drying the pots....made my head protest a bit, but hey think of the extra calories being burned (kill or cure  ).
    Next I'm going to:
.....spray the budgie with a plant mister as he is trying to bathe in his water pot bless him - just spotted him........said budgie is now looking very bedraggled. He usually loves having a shower but if you try to 'mist' him when he doesn't feel like it, he hides behind the cuttlefish :rotfl:......
Right where was I? Oh yes, I'm going to:
Change the budgie's seed and water :)
Clean out the budgie's cage :)
Fold the clean laundry which is still 'airing' from last weekend :o

    Done. Done and done.
Budgie is now sat on his swing and watching my every move - probably wondering what I'm going to do to him next - well he doesn't know it, but PJ has just pulled up outside and he is going to cut Charlie's beak - which is the one thing that Charlie does object to, but it has to be done as it grows at a phenomenal rate.

    Better get the kettle on
    Back later

:hello:hey new people, welcome aboard the "magic thread" (I love that :)).

RT - the point of dehoarding is to make life better - the point of life is not to dehoard, so we don't have to be hard at it every day.

back to normal work/school routine this week, was so glad to welcome friday evening, and have done very little during the week except somehow, all washing was done and put away by yesterday lunchtime. As well as no laundry basket in the bedroom, i've managed to lose ds's (it folds up really small, I've put it somewhere. possibly in the charity shop!), so we only have the one in my room, I know we've been wearing the same amount of clothes and I swear I'm doing the same amount of washing during the week, but it hasn't dragged on across all the weekend - who knows how that works? just beds to do tomorrow (I like to start the working/school week with a combination of clean sheets and bathed children, as they go a bit feral over the weekend, so it's usually a sunday night job, but will be monday this week).

have been gardening and pottering about, everything is so much easier and more enjoyable than when there was chaos and stuff everywhere (to other's eyes I'm sure it still looks that way because of the DIY/renovation and craft projects but to me it's miles better).

1 small example: I emptied a bag from the loft yesterday when looking for some present bags for ds (birthday trip of his friend), found a load of wrapping ribbons and raffia was able to store it properly with the wrapping stuff and use the raffia to tie up the bulbs in the garden, which allowed me to finish putting in the lawn edging. So I've ticked things off my list without having to buy anything new, used things for their purpose and made space.

some paint stored in the shed has not made it through the winter so it's in a pile for the tip this pm (was really easy to get into the shed and locate - would have been a full day before). Plus I've gone through my seeds and thrown the very out of date ones that I know don't grow well in my garden (20-odd packets), I've a pile to throw in some soil with dd today to see if they work, and the packets will be thrown, leaving 10 or so in date ones that I'm already growing.

small things but all adding up to a better life.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

Hmmm, not sure where to start today.Normally on a Sunday partner would have left for inlaws about 10-11am,and by now I would be cracking on.
Today I have to wait to collect eldest daughter from a sleepover (not home til 11.30am),then partner and kids were collected by MIL.FIL will be back soon with partner.FIL will then tow partner in our broken down car to garage to be fixed over the next week or so.
Meanwhile I have had brekky, put on bedsheets for washing, watching the news. And that is it.Can't even think of a job to start with at the moment (there are lots, but can't think of any to start and finish in the rest of the afternoon family will be out.).Might start by unpacking dishwasher and seeing if there are any plastics to match up with those I sorted yesterday.

Roundtuit, that is a very good idea about just listing a couple of jobs to do at a time, finishing those, then list another few.I have always written long lists. And the more I add,the more I think of.Things on the "To Do" list vary from very short term (pay xyz bill) to long term (apply for passport/plan house extension). The list, over time, gets lost,so re-written.The amount of to-do lists I have found this week sorting out those couple of boxes-they are like a time-capsule of my life. And the world has not stopped spinning because I never got around to doing some of these things......
So a very good idea to simply list a few things you know are manageable.

Right, off to find something to do.....

Well I've totally messed up my plan for today. Plus it was supposed to be a No Spending Day.
Went to a car boot sale this morning with the 2 youngest and my neighbour and her kids. Bought myself a bike, which I've been threatening to do for a while now, got it for £15 :T And the kind man has said he'll deliver it up to the house later on so I'll give him £20 for going to that trouble. Neighbour also bought one for same price, this means we now have to carry through on our getting fit plan :(
Also bought DD a few wee toys - the proper Polly Pocket sets from years ago, got them all for £10 and I know they are worth far more than that, there were a few in that bundle I used to have when I was a wee girl. Most have the original figures also which was a bonus.
DD is playing away with her Polly Pockets and haven't heard a peep from her for 2 hours now, so that was £10 well spent! Now I know what to get her for wee treats. Ebay here I come lol.
Bought oldest 2 new DS games that he's been looking at in Game. £3 each, was able to test them in DD's DS which happened to be in the changing bag from yesterday lol. Also bought him a scooter, one of the proper ones with air tyres and not one of these tiny metal things. That was £4 daughter wanted one also but there were no girl ones lol, the lady told me that she has a pink glittery one at home and if I wanted it I could have it for the same price. She's going to keep if for me and neighbour said she'll collect it for me later on today as she lives in the same street as her mum lol.

So even though it was a Spendy day, it was a productive one and saved myself a bit of money. Plus I think I've lost my daughter for a while lol. Am off out to the yard now and give it a bit of a wash and freshen up. Will throw a few things out of there also as there's loads there that we really don't need.

Thankyou Lobbyludd -That's where I want to get to! Good to have a clear goal.

I am still immersed in all the StepChange stuff....had to take a break yesterday as it was doing my head in (trying to stretch the income I have which is less money than I need to cover everything!) but used the break to spend a couple of hours decluttering grass+ weeds with the lawnmower and strimmer in the garden. It was a huge job and I am very pleased with results.
I spent this morning raking all the cut stuff up and putting it on the compost. So now, after all that physical activity, I am back at the smelly budget and SOA...
I've been hoarding debts. I have suddenlly realised that I need to imagine what I want to do to make me happy AFTER the debt is all paid off in order to make it happen -I realised that my debts(£18,000) is such a huge sum that I had been unable to imagine ever paying it all off before I die(I am 57). So from now on, I am going to look at things differently -I need to stop hoarding the debts, deal with them and pay them off asap, let them go so I can get on with the rest of my life. I would like to see some places, maybe travel with my 3 grown up children and enjoy the rest of my life debt free. Dehoarding the Debts will give me SPACE.
So the sooner I get on with it the better....off to finish this Debt Change questionaire!!!

Have been cooking my Get Well Soon cakes and I am very tired. Now I remember that I hate icing! (Love eating it though and they do look cheerful with their hundreds and thousands). They taste good too. I also made us a Victoria sponge - DH requested it and he isn't a cake person so I thought I'd make the effort..

On my 4th load of washing - one of those enthusiastic moments when I strip the bed then feel too shattered to sort out the dry washing.. but I will make myself.

I am having a coffee, then I will go and package up the cakes. I will feel pleased when they look pretty and that will be a container decluttered..

Living room is a mess from DD this morning but she is out with one set of gparents and DS out with another.
