MP and MEP's are different Cladcat, but the end result may still be the same I suppose.

    Have written to Lord McNally
  • Hi Everyone
Since my last post i have had calls from GPB solicitors chasing the outstanding money. I have told them i will not deal with them by phone and only by post.
I have also written to them and requested details of the debt, and given them 10 days to respond. They did not send me the stuff within 10 days so i wrote again and they said they were getting the stuff but that it would take more than 10 days.
I found a good website with letter templates which i have been using. message me for details
I actually signed up for the legalcare on behalf of my dad and we used a work address... therefore they are chasing the wrong person and the wrong address! i know my brother got off with a parking ticket that had gone to court simply because the postcode was wrong...!
  • since some of you are insisting on screenshots, the wayback machine is your best friend :)
i cant post links yet, but just google wayback machine :)
  • Has anyone been dealing with GPB Solicitors yet? What is it they say when you tell them you did not knowingly enter the contract?

And how long has it been since you are being chased?

    Thanks.

It's taken them nearly 3 months to get back in contact and gpb are still asking me to pay. Now going back to legalcare for instruction as I have said I'm still not paying.

This has now been going on from late February how is everybody else and where is eviser (you've been quiet for awhile have they started chasing you again?)
  • Unsurprisingly, I was also one of their "victims". Once I had ascertained the name of the solicitor who had provided the incorrect advice, I contacted the Law Society. I have had numerous emails going back and forth between Legalcare, gpb solicitors and Paul Careless. I offered to pay £19 as a gesture of goodwill for failing to cancel online which was accepted and has now been paid. Let's hope this is the end of the issue. Oh boy, have I learnt a lesson here ... do not trust anyone and read the TOC.

wow good news! its all gone quiet over here... i asked for proof of contract and stuff like that but havent had anything yet....
  • I have had exactly the same thing happen to me. Cancelled via PayPal after 24 hours, now billed for £278 for years' "service". I didn't even get a response to my initial question, so have not received any service of any kind for my money. Looking at the sheer number of people posting on sites like this about being caught out in EXACTLY the same way I would imagine that there are enough of us out there to prove that the site is misleading. I have offered to pay £19 but Paul Careless declined my offer. Not one of the lucky ones!!
