  • I used this site and received a promt reply and did not cancel in time. I did however contact them to negotiate a fee for the service i received which was accepted from them. The site isnt a con, its just a business model that works in most cases for both parties. Similar to mobile phones or gyms - They cannot cover their overheads without committed customers and offer a free trial. It is the consumers responsibility to ensure they cancel in time.

    Interesting first post...
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

See the thing is there is a cancellation process and you saying otherwise does your case no good. I went through the signing up process and IMHO the T&C's are there and easily accessible. Some people are internet intelligent, others are not.

    How incredibly patronising you are.
  • I'm just another person that's become a victim of LegalCare, at least so far any way. However, my experience has been slightly different.

I signed up for the 14 day free trial and after getting my advice, I decided to cancel. The reason being that I felt the advice that I received was odd in that it was almost entirely personal and very little to do with any legality surrounding my question.

I cancelled by using the website's query form, and received a submitted question page after doing so. I left it at that knowing that the message was sent and that I had done so about a day after signing up.

A couple of days ago I logged into PayPal and noticed that they had been taking payments for 3 months. I thought that this was a mistake, so I rang PayPal and had it cancelled. I then contacted LegalCare and told them of the mistake.

I then got a reply from them asking when I cancelled and how. Before I was able to reply, I received a message from them asking why my PayPal had been cancelled and telling me that I'd signed up for a 12 month contract! I replied and told them when I had cancelled.

They are now saying that they didn't receive any notice of cancellation and that I owe them the full amount immediately.

I've replied and told reiterated that I cancelled within 14 days using their form submission on their website. I also told them that I didn't appreciate being threatened or harrassed and that if they continued to do so that I would be forced to contact Trading Standards.

This is where I'm up to now, so I'm awaiting the next stage after a reply from them.

I just thought it would be a good idea to give another story of why LegalCare aren't (in my opinion) a good company to deal with at all.

If you cannot recall signing up, then who else has access to your paypal account?

What to do? Write back saying it nothing to do with you, if that's the case.
  • I dont have a paypal account

Then go on to read the second line of my reply.
  • I have read through all these letters from people who have been duped, tricked, conned ,robbed by this opaque company and it has truly saddened and shocken me. Has it really come to this? Are Legalcare that desperate for money that they are willing to obtain it by tricking people. What job satisfaction is there from making a living out of making people unhappy. !!!!!!!!! I am a business owner and my priority is making sure my customers are completely happy with their purchase. Otherwise what is the point. My business would not work in the long term .I incidently have been tricked too by Legal care. I smelt a rat immediately as emails never finished with a contact name just a generic department and were aggressive from the onset. I explained to Legalcare that as I signed up via paypal I have the right to cancel under the same method. They then sent me lots of emails stating their T&C.In the end I blocked these. I now have a letter from GPB solicitors .I immediately called them and explained. They too started talking T&C as if from a prompt sheet.Very well rehearsed speech from the receptionist as if she has said the same thing a hundred times that day..judging by this forum she probably has. Anyway we should all stand up to these con men and do not pay a penny. They only exist through intimidation and bully boy tactics. If no one paid they would last only a couple more months. Is this company really owned by a Mr Careless? Even the name is made up...is a complete joke but a very bad one.
  • Just a message for Mikereason. You said this company is not a con and then continue to say they could not exist and pay their overheads without committing people to a year. Am I missing something? This is not a business this is a trick. Why can't they pay their overheads without tricking people?.They should not be in business if their only way of existing is through deception. Its so obvious and it is beggars belief that these threads exist inthe first place. Surely I wasnt the only one who had alarm bells sounding from the very first correspondence from a name less email.
