But that's the whole point. I can't tell you what help I get from Children's Services because I get no help from Children's Services. They told us to ring them when DS2 gets a diagnosis because they're not allowed to help until he gets one. He actually has 3 so far but obviously none of them are on the list of diagnoses that count. The CAF was shut down without discussion after we complained about the behaviour of the professionals at the last meeting. And as I already confirmed I do get help from Adult Services but they are hampered by having too few people for too large a caseload, my personal budget is 3 months past expiring and my care manager is off sick...
And I'd be very glad if you could sort out the problems I have with getting my bins emptied, I have to ring nearly every week to point out they forgot me again - I know the call centre staff by name now, I say "It's me again, that gobby mare from xxx" and we have a giggle about it.
Must have been someone from your family then who called me......:p
I will see what I can do, will send the boys around :A
Have you not even got Integrated Services in your area?
Cases like you always do highlight sadly the big gaps that exist.
Not to make you feel any worse/better but I would not even know if the Social care department could help you even if you would be open.
You seem to need people that know what they are doing in a very specialist area and really us Social Workers are not trained to that level. Yes, 'Super nanny' and some basic behaviour training but I am for example the only one with any experience of disability in my team
You can always try and find groups/ services yourself and try charity funding for them? You have the right to remain silent.Anything you do say will be misquoted and then used against you

My care manager and her former boss have been fighting to have a change in the organisation to have a small number of staff trained specifically to help families such as ours. They've not got that far (yet?) but they have been successful in getting the Adult teams reorganised so that people needing long term care have named care managers rather than having to go through to whoever's on duty and waste time getting them up to speed for every little question. Dont get me wrong , it is great if parents get the support they need but I would be worried if the parent gets sued......:eek:You have the right to remain silent.Anything you do say will be misquoted and then used against you

I'm just wondering if it's something the parents have accessed through personal budgets? It would seem an appropriate use of funds.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Yes, I have 'twisted' the system like that before....I have argued that as the PA's are employed by us , we need to train them but sadly again not for the parents.
I have contacted the organisations myself and they only train professionalsYou have the right to remain silent.Anything you do say will be misquoted and then used against you
