they are extremely important to us - we've had two holidays a year since our little boy was born (he's going on his 5th in June lol and he'sonly nearly two). Only been to the Balearics with him though x
I've never not had at least one holiday a year and we save really hard for them x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Holidays are incredibly important to us. We couldn't do without them. Growing up it was the same - my parents scrimped and saved to take us on some amazing holidays. I have never been on a package holiday but went to the USA quite a few times growing up (proper USA, not Florida!), lots of travel in Europe, camping, etc. I know how lucky I was and it has left me placing a huge value on holidays.
This year we are going to Mexico on our honeymoon. In the summer we are doing California/west coast, and OH is also going to Japan with his daughter (I'm not going). We will try very hard to get a week or so away somewhere in the autumn/winter - NYC if possible but at least a European city break.
Holidays are so important to me that they are the only thing making me think about putting off starting a family for a bit longer once we are married! I want another few great holidays first!

Going away is important to me...it doesn't have to be abroad though. I'll go anywhere...just to go somewhere! We frequently travel down to London and such like and now we are getting closer to paying of debt will probably have a holiday abroad every 18 - 24 months with lots of UK/European city trips in between0

Holidays are very important to us, love the family time together, not having to do the household chores such as washing up, ironing, etc.
We tend to go abroad twice a year, this year we are doing Cyprus and Switzerland, the latter is a surprise holiday for my OH's 40th.
I love the build up of packing, getting my son up and him being so excited for the plane etc.
Not very MSE but if I had to I would get into debt for my two holidays a year.0 -

We keep returning to Cyprus. I'm not sure why...

Been thinking about this after reading another thread.
To me, holidays are super important. I love taking the kids away. We like to do a few weekends away throughout the year and I am so glad that I have found MSE to help me achieve that.
I love going away with my girls, so holidays are very important to us.
I can't manage long holidays, and can't book in advance so we often go at short notice, maybe 4 or 5 times during the year. It all depends on how well I am feeling but going away to the seaside for a few days is heavenly

Not important at all, haven't been abroad in about 12 years. The closest i got to a holiday was a festival i went to last year but it rained the whole weekend which kind of ruined it, plus i ended up back in my OD cos of unexpected expenditure.
I don't like travel or faffing around, plus i can't afford it.
That said would like a weekend away with the bf at some point (he works in a hotel so we'd get discounted rooms at the other hotels)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I don't think its that important we went for years without having one and even now our holiday tend to be going to visit my dad. I struggle in different beds and get little sleep, anything more than a week away from home and I get irritable and just start looking forward to going home even if we are busy and really enjoying ourselves. Its whilst everyone else is asleep and I cant get to sleep I think I just cant wait to go home and have a good nights sleep.
We are only having 2 nights camping this year and then just days out - we do a lot of days out. This is because we are saving for next years holiday which will be on a boat on the Norfolk broads, then 2015 we are planning Copenhagen, which will only be the 2nd time we've taken the kids abroad and the last time was to a wedding in Ireland - there is just so much to do and see in this country.0 -
Missed out on a holiday last year - my grandmother died and Father-in-Law had a heart attack followed by quadruple bypass. All holiday entitlement (bar 5 days) was brought together so that we could go to Cornwall to help him and his wife after the op.
So this year working hard, with overtime, because we are of to Crete in August. We felt we deserved the break xxWins in 2013 - Jan - Heinz No Noise Ketchup.0
