How important are holidays to you?

I believe holidays are important to give the kids some good memories of their childhood. Where you go is largely irrelevant to me, which is probably a good thing because with 3 kids a family holiday costs an awful lot of money if you want to go anywhere half-decent abroad these days.
We decided over the last few years that we were going to stay in the UK and contribute to the local economy of wherever we went. We've done all the Butlins and a few other places, and although we looked at maybe doing a holiday abroad this year we've decided to stay in the UK again and take the opportunity to visit the local attractions.0 -
Very important!
A fair proportion of my "holidays" are actually spent visiting my family who live far from me and spending time with them though, which is really, really important to me. If we're talking going away places, it's still important. I also go to music festivals as a holiday and I'd like to be able to travel to other areas of the UK and other countries much more than I can, I've not been abroad in ages and I'm dying to go.
Seems I can't get enough of them!0 -
They are quite important to me.
Since marrying six months ago, we still haven't had a honeymoon, and we have only been abroad once as a couple, to Paris for a few days, so not really a holiday, just a mini break
(didn't have honeymoon cos of dates, work, and wanted to save and have something else to look forward to!)
I really want to go away this year, and think hubby does too, but he's not a good flyer and so that plays on his mind I think... Also, the money side, it is a lot of money to pay for a week or two weeks, and could be put away in the bank or used for other things. Everytime we look for holidays we never find one we are 100% happy wi. I say I, its him not me!
Plus i am going back to do my masters next year and so wont be earning, so the money i am earning now we are trying to save! So who knows how long I will have to wait for my honeymoon!!Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0
