MM, that's exactly right. Looks are not everything. When we spoke on the phone yesterday I made a joke about him going to the mens room, climbing out the window and running away when he sees me : ). I usually wear glasses but have decided to give them up for contact lenses....I'm just trying to get used to wearing them.....hehehehe

it could take you weeks to get used to wearing contact lenses. I went five months and tried various sorts but had to give them up. Glasses or no glasses on a man wouldnt put me off. infact some men in glasses look downright sexy. I cant see how that can be different from a mans perspective. So many people have to wear them these days its no big deal

Try and get a copy of that paul mckenna book, instant confidence or change your life in seven days. You will be glad you read it!

Thank you MM, I will try the library. Failing that I will buy it myself. I assume it's in all major bookstores?

I have met a guy thru the internet (not a dating site, actually a forum for my health condition!!). If I were to write a description of my ideal man, he would tick all the boxes!! We live 60 miles apart, and both work silly shifts, so have felt that it is going to be difficult to have a relationship. We met up at a zoo halfway for both of us for a few hours, and got on well. We have still keptthings as friends only, and have both tried dating other people, but I am still really keen on him as he is on me. We have decided to meet up again to talk as texts/ phone calls don't feel 'real' enough. I hope that your dtae goes well, and please let us know how it's going!!

Unless he's horrendous looking bordering on disfigured don't rule him out. some people become more attractive the better you get to know them and at the end of the day looks wear off eventually and you take how they look for granted

I find that women get more attractive the more lager I drink. After about 20 pints, all women are attractive, but I'm unable to do anything about it :o

I agree to a point about keeping in touch with a friend during the evening but for goodness sake dont continually text a friend. There are very few things more annoying on a date than the other person being obsessed with their mobile phone, turn it off and keep it off until he pops to the loo and THEN send your message.
If you cant/dont want to turn it off im sure a polite mention that you promissed to let your friend know you are ok would be appreciated rather than a furtive text message when you think he is not looking.

PS im sure he is as nervous and excited as you are so relax, be yourself and enjoy the evening.

    A little update for you:

We talked for almost 2 hours on Saturday night. He was quite busy yesterday so I only got 2 text messages. We both started new jobs so I only got 2 messages again. I hope he isn't loosing interest. All the messages still have a X at the end? Should I text him again tonight or refrain until I get one from him? I don't want to ruin anything and even though a little nervous I'm still looking forward to Friday : )

You don't have to wait until he sends you a text to send one back and likewise you don't have to be texting all day.

Send him a text if that's what you feel like but don't read too much into all this.

He might just be running out of things to say on text. OR he could be feeling nervous about friday, and find his emotions are running away and playing havoc, and have decided to cool it briefly so he doesnt feel so emotionally vunerable when he meets you?
