Im sim only and theres no mention of a 6 month refund
also note they calculate the % on the full £15.50 my tariff is,not the £8 I pay(was on a deal, not retentions)
I'll look around but looking at the prices on other sim onlys, theres not much in ithow is it the third price increase in 18months? they are allowed by terms and conditions to increase the price once every 12 months in their terms and conditions - and why the hell arent sim only customers affected?! how is that fair?
well as you see,they are0 -
wonder how much they paid Mr Bacon ??0

I got the letter from Orange about the price rise, phoned to query because the letter was quoting the full price without my discount.
Cut a long story short, was offered a better package to see out the contract. So now will be paying £7 a month less than I am now.
Will re-evaluate whether a contract is the best option when the renewal date comes up.x x x0 -
same here dumyat will ring them to query it aswellWhat goes around-comes around0

Good move! That is what happened the last time and, if you think about it, it's an improvement opportunity rather than a rise for many people.0 -
Well I'm on a 12 Month sim only contract, it is going up, I got the letter telling me it will rise from £7.00 to £7.22 a month. Whilst it won't break the bank, its the principle that they can change the price of a 12 month contract.
I nearly went sim only rolling monthly as well, I think this is the only way to avoid price hikes, although you do appear to pay more for it. When my contract is up for renewal, I'll do the same as always and look about for the best deal, if its with Orange then I'll stay, if not I'll be off. If I could change today, I'd be offski to Ovivo, can hardly see Orange being concerned at lossing my £7.22 a month lol.0 -
I will spell it out.
THEY ARE ALL THE SAME
So if you are annoyed with EE, Orange or whoever and move to, say, O2, they will do the same to you mid term as well. None are worse or better than the rest. It's just that you happen to be with Oragne. Read the Vodafone, O2 et al threads on the same topic.
So, you could go PAYG if you like. That will help - but of course if you want decent minutes, expect to pay more per min. And there is always giffgaff or Ovivo.
But if you want to stay mainstream, don't go thinking the grass is greener on the other side. It's different grass, that's all. Same cows and bulls and same bull***t to swallow there.
O2 are now selling to new customers contracts with more minutes, more texts and more data for less than their previously advertised prices which were just RPI increased... so much for their !!!! and bull explanation about why they had to increase prices.0 -
I recently read a forum on here where people were able to get out of mobile phone contracts with orange for free due to the price change back in September of 2009 ( the forum was named 'orange price change?' )
I received a letter from orange on the 5th of march 2013 stating that the price of my monthly plan is due to increase from the 10th of April 2013.
Does this mean I could cancel my orange contract for free as so many people managed to do on the above forum??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

There is another thread dedicated to this (sorry on phone and don't know if I can do links from it!). I believe the answer is no though!0 -
No it doesn't. The situation in 2009, from memory was an announced increase that never came into effect and was withdrawn, but in the meantime a number of customers escaped.
That's from memory and others may correct me if I am wrong0
