See post #76.
You prove what I said as treating it as an opportunity to get something better.
Everyone else, read this and do likewise.0 -
I'm just kicking myself I didn't phone sooner, with the price reduction I got.
Would advise everyone to phone and see what Orange offer them.x x x0 -

Because they can't predict inflation in the next 2 years0 -

It doesn't matter if they have been trading 1 day or 1 century, nobody can predict inflation rises, so how could they factor in the cost when you signed up?
It does, however, state in the T&Cs that the price may rise.
As Dumyat said though, have a read of that thread and give them a call.0 -
Yep, ground hog day, got the letter today saying my Panther 41 was going to be a Panther 42.38. like a lot of people called Orange & was very quickly offered a £41 a month deal, killing the price rise & I got an extra gig of data. Like most people I never get near my 2 gb of data so they are not taking a great risk.
So from Oranges point of view, try it on, most people are apathetic, so there money is in the bank, those that do complain pretend that your doing them a favour by offering them the price they signed up for. saves the poor P.R.
In a other age these guys would be selling snake oil.
I still intend to contact ofcom, I doubt after the last price rise that they care, but maybe it would be nice if they asked Orange to trade with a little more integrity0 -
I joined Orange last year with a £36 a month contract that was discounted to £28.50 (a £7.5 discount at the time of joining). I received a letter yesterday stating a 3.3% rise of £1.16 to this £36 rather than the actual monthly bill of £28.5 that Orange would debit. Applying the £7.5 discount (direct from Orange) to this new monthly bill will equate to a 4.1% price rise for me.
This does clearly contravene the contract clause of an RPI increase as the net monthly bill that they will be debiting from my account is actually 4.1% rather than 3.3%. I have written a letter to Orange stating the same and my intent to break the contract as their changes fall over the RPI limit. I have also asked for a deadlock letter in case they refuse.
In my case this does seem like a clear breach of the terms and conditions!0 -
So what have people managed to get out of orange and what was their original tariff?
I also have a line with tmobile where I got 50% loyalty discount I am going to call them tomorrow to see if the price rise is on the £11 or the £5.50 I actually pay.0
