If they actually say a blue badge must be displayed , that is actually a breach of the Equality Act, as it discriminates against disabled people without a badge

I've literally never seen a disabled parking bay that doesn't have this requirement posted next to it, either in council or private car parks. Round here we usually have to display a clock with the badge too, to show when we parked, and it's rarely a free (as in non-fee paying) space either.0

No not really amazing as the casino attracts expensive cars that the owners do not want damaged hence using the child spaces.0

Where does it say that you can use these disabled bays without a badge though? (really not arguing but can't see it, my head is a bit woolly right now).0

Just ignore it- it is a scam as you are on private property and there is no loss to the land owner.0

Council car parks are different to private car parks, penalty charge notices what you get in council car parks if you contravene the parking regulations are legislated for, and the tickets enforceable.
On private land the blue badge scheme does not apply

Hi all, sorry if this has already been discussed.
Tonight sunday at 19:50 I was issued a Parking Charge Notice from Vinci whilst parked at Brighton Marina multi story. I was parked in a disabled bay not displaying a blue badge. My argument is at the time of parking there were no parent and child spaces available and having 2 young children requiring a push chair I decided to park in a disabled bay on the ground floor. There is only a few parent and child spaces compared to almost 3 times as many disabled of which there were plenty available. There are no lifts at this car park which make it difficult with a pushchair.
Do I just pay the charge? Or dispute it?
 Many Thanks
 Chris
 Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaagullllllllsssss!!!!!!!!!! :T
You must ignore them of course. You owe nothing...
...but please don't ever park in any disabled bay when not disabled.
Parent and Child Bays are a gimmick, honestly there is no need to use a special bay when you have a child (I have 4 kids myself, been there done that, double buggy, manic, energetic little boys and all and almost never used a wider bay).
It is highly annoying that P&C bays even exist IMHO because they are almost encouraging poeple to use these disabled bays because they have created a problem.
The expectation that has been created by these 'P&C Bays' as a marketing gimmick (to make it look like they are the store or retailer or cinema or visitor centre that cares about families) is more trouble than it's worth.
Too many parents then think they 'have' to have a wider bay when they simply DO NOT, even with a baby or more than one child - and so they pointlessly use a disabled bay thinking it's similar. It is not.
Please just use a normal bay when the gimmick bays are full.
A disabled bay is a completely different thing and is a legal right under the Equality Act.
But that doesn't mean you owe a third party some money! PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland). PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

We are not judging you at all, the thread has got side tracked a little with the other poster on here. The advice in post #2 stands, just ignore vinci and don't use disabled bays if you don't have a need. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Nor have we because in a private car park, the private parking companies 'use and abuse' the Blue Badge scheme to make it easy to police the disabled bays - and easy to pounce when things go wrong.
Search the forum for 'Equality Act' (using the specific search button on this parking forum to the right of the thread list) and you'll find umpteen cases of disabled people who have the legal right to park where they did, but who have suffered a PPC fake PCN slapped on the car because of some made up rubbish like the Badge being the wrong way up or out of date. This even when the PPC employee has seen the disabled person get out of the car and into a wheelchair, then they pounce!
Basically they use the scheme for an easy excuse to make money.
Already discussed here yesterday if your next question is 'but how can they police the bays without using the BB scheme then...?':

HTH - I am on the side of disabled people here, used to work in that field. PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland). PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
