think I will tomorrow, just didn't want to be too eager and call too soon if the stuff is on its way and its only just occurred tonight to me that I used to have an account with them (was closed a few years back when a local branch shut)

    Hi

how long is it taking for internet banking docs to be issued, as I have the card, tel banking code etc but no internet banking issues (had the debit card etc about a week ago).

I have just realised though that around 5 years ago I used to have an account with nationwide and had internet banking on that, the accont has been closed for some years now could it be that i'm technically still registered?? (I have no idea what the log on details were though)

This is most likely the case. You can find it by going to the online banking login page and clicking 'I've forgotten my customer number'.

Just rang them, have confimed id with them and they hgave me the customer number over the phone, think it is the same one I had before as looking at it does now ring a vague bell. they had sent me out a card reader though but was only dispatched on 19th so probably why not got that part. (rest of the post is all dated between 9th to 13th)

I applied to upgrade from Flex to FlexDirect on the day after the FlexDirect account was launched. Closing paper statement and replacement cheque book have arrived but to date no replacement debit card.

The welcome letter said that a replacement card would arrive in 7-10 days and my existing Flex debit card would cease to work after 3 weeks which is approaching. I just rang Nationwide and was informed that owing to heavy demand there is a delay in issuing the FlexDirect cards and my existing Flex debit card will remain valid for an additional 3 weeks.

Update: Typical! My post which regularly arrives at 09:00 has just been delivered including the awaited FlexDirect debit card.

My mum was in santander doing something with her ISA the other day and the sales manager there said that hes heard from an official source at nationwide that they are only allowing one £2500 5% flexdirect account.

He then went on to tell her that its better to put £2500 into the Santander 123 account and not into FlexDirect (which I couldnt understand how he came to that conclusion?). Makes me think hes just trying to BS my mum because she didnt know much about it and try and sell his own products.

Anyone heard anything more about how many accounts. About to transfer my money (£2500 of it) into my flexdirect tonight.

This has been discussed umpteen times. T&Cs say one offer only per customer. You can search the Forum for more details.

I telephoned Nationwide today and was told 5% interest on one account only, even if you apply for a joint account, in addition to a single one.

A quick question. So one leaves 2500 in the bank and just puts in 1000 every month. In other words for one day the total briefly goes up to 3500.
