Quick question. Did you have to transfer all your Direct Debits to them to be part of this deal? Can't see anything on the net for it.

I plan to just transfer monthly amount from my current account to this one. I presume that would be OK!

    Thanks

Not if current account is with Nationwide - needs to be externally funded.

    Thanks.

No account with Nationwide. So, was planning to transfer £1000 (from my another bank current account) in one day and out £800 the next day. I presume this would work.

Yes as long as £1000 from external source. You do not need to wait until the next day as soon as it already appears on your account you could transfer it out immediately. I have been doing this for over a year to get a fee Travel insurance from my Nationwide flexi account.

Did you register for online banking?

If so, then have you phoned them to ask why you've not yet received the login details? It should take 3-5 working days.

You're automatically put on the online banking system when you apply for the account. It does say that you should recieve all your details within 14 days . But thought that was just a caviat. So clients dont get on the phone and moan. But it would seem they ment it and more. Just have a bee in my bonnet about doing business with companies that obviously dont care . Some do have the systems in place and are on the ball , so why deal with those that dont.

So what did they say when you called them?

How long has it taken other people to hear from Nationwide.

Applied for one online last Tuesday and it said I would hear from them with their decision.

Nine days later and I'm still waiting. Can I take it it's a no?

I've just got off the phone to the "Direct Team" and have been told that I will receive 5% interest on all three of my FlexDirect accounts and this was doubled checked on their computer system...

    Wow, I'm confused :(

I've just double checked on Nationwide's computer system and it says under "Can I open more than one FlexDirect account?"...."You can open up to four Nationwide current accounts, however you are only guaranteed the 5% AER promotional interest rate on one FlexDirect account."

A strange choice of words! Why not "..you will only receive..."? That reads as maybe they will and maybe they won't which only serves to confuse matters more than before.

(sorry if this has already been pointed out but I cannot be bothered to search through all the threads on this subject to check)

    Hi

how long is it taking for internet banking docs to be issued, as I have the card, tel banking code etc but no internet banking issues (had the debit card etc about a week ago).

I have just realised though that around 5 years ago I used to have an account with nationwide and had internet banking on that, the accont has been closed for some years now could it be that i'm technically still registered?? (I have no idea what the log on details were though)
