The plot thickens with the question around whether multiple accounts pay the 5% interest. I opened two accounts online before I'd read the terms and conditions, then having been advised here that interest would only be paid on one of them, I used the Nationwide internal message feature to ask for the second account to be closed IF it would not accrue interest, here's the response;
EDIT: Here's my original message for completeness;
HOPEFULLY i will recieve my customer number so that I can login to nationwide later today when I am home from work.It has taken an absolute year for them to send the bits through. May give them a call tonight if I havent recieved anything still.0 -
I think someone posted earlier that the Terms and Conditions will overrule anything else Nationwide may say - and this isn't an attempt to undermine what has been said in this thread - just an indication that there is confusion even within Nationwide about the terms of this product.0

guess the only way to find out is wait until April and then just keep checking the interest rates are still the same every month.0

Nationwide are seriously all over the floor with the admin around FlexDirect.
Today I received the third lot of "welcome to FlexDirect" (or whatever it says, I have binned it this morning and I won't rummage through the bin for for it now). Before some smart alec says "this would be for the three accounts you applied for": I have not applied for three accounts. The sort code and account number on all three letters is the same, and tallies with what I can see online and on the debit card I received.0 -

I received two separate requests for my signature for the same account, eventhough I'm an existing customer. Just think how much more their profits would be if they had some way of only sending out necessary documents.

I am an existing customer too. I am glad to hear it's not just me receiving duplicates and triplicates, but it sounds like a major blunder if it happens to others, too.0 -
I upgraded a previously dormant normal Flex account and received a new telephone banking PIN (not requested). Later received a letter telling me the account was open and to read an enclosed welcome booklet, but nothing was enclosed. Still waiting for internet log-in details and a debit card.0

I got three seperate letters from Nationwide, two of which were identical, all asking for my signature despite that I'm an existing customer and returned the same documents last year for the Flexclusive ISA.
A day later, a thick envelope containing a welcome pack and other stuff.
Today, a PIN number and a debit card. Yes, they both came together. Oh, and another letter saying I'm pre-approved for the select credit card.
So thats 7 envelopers so far, and all of them has been fed into my trusty shredder. Here's hoping I don't actually need the debit card or PIN now, as its a little too late.0 -

I got 4 letters yesterday (new customer applying weekend prior) - a welcome letter, a debit card, a debit card pin and a telephone banking pin, all on the same day...
Presume still got signature request(s), online details and card reader to come, at least. Royal mail must love them!0
