As per my title..
To those of you who have successfully opened multiple FlexDirect accounts (and been paid 5% interest on each :T)
1) did you apply for them all online, by phone, in branch or a mixture?
2) did you apply for more than one at the same time? if not, how long did you wait before opening 2, 3, 4 etc?
I applied online for my 1st on 7th March and it was opened 19th. Just applied online for number 2 and been given account details immediately. Wondering how long to wait before applying for numbers 3 and 40 -

Online. 4 new ones first then conversion of a current Flex. This took about 15 minutes in all for all 5. The 4 new showed next day. The conversion took about a week. I have letters on all 5 confirming they are now FlexDirect. My OH did the same but only 3 new are showing. The conversion of an old Flex again took some days but it had no overdraft. Applied for one online and it came out less than half of the 3 new ones as an allowed maximum, awaiting confirmation on that one. Seems they are modifying their system as we all pile in?0 -

All online, all new ones, not upgrades since I felt like keeping my Flexaccounts.. One lot on a Saturday, the remainder on Sunday.0 -
Nationwide in "left leg not knowing what right leg is doing" shocker!
Anyway, who am I to complain, so long as they keep paying interest on my accounts I shan't complain0 -
Great news, I've just opened a second online, got the account details so hopefully it will show tomorrow and I'll fund it and open another. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

I haven't received interest on my FD account yet - opened and paid in money on 11th March. Anyone else still waiting for interest?0

@ a&akay and innovate
Thanks for the info
I tried to open FlexDirect number 3 online last night but got the message that application was received but they have to carry out some further checks etc. No overdraft requested, but I'll just have wait I guess.
FlexDirect number 2 appeared online today and now funded, so fingers crossed for the 5%.0 -
well i didn't try to open a second flexdirect account, and they have opened one for me anyway!
is it all very odd. first thing i knew about it was when a second visa debit card arrived in the post this morning for a flexdirect account in my name but with an account number i didn't recognise, and when i logged in there it was, with £0 balance . . but with no date that i could see for when it was actually opened. guess i will have to phone up and find out what is going on, (the first flexdirect seems to have had the interest added on correctly, and my original, no frills, flexaccount is still there), but meanwhile, i'm a little curious as to whether anyone else has had an account opened that they didn't apply for? (. . . or at least have no strong recollection of having applied for!)0 -
Just about to open some more accounts. Just looked at the interest/charge and got a bit confused, can anyone explain what this is?
26 Mar 2013 Bank credit £2500.00 £2500.00 31 Mar 2013 Interest/Charge £2.01 £2502.01 31 Mar 2013 Interest/Charge £0.40 £2501.61
Obviouisly paid in £2500 on 26th march, got £2.01 in interest and then paid out £0.40, why did it get paid out, what is the charge for? I dont understand.
edit: ignore this, just read full statement and it is "tax taken", have never seen the actual tax being taken off in statement before.0 -
Getting the whole "Sorry Mr X but you are unable to register for a new bank account today" message. Will try tomorrow.0
