Thank you, I imagined myself making 6" boxes in which to place my smaller boxes.

I'm quite relieved that when de-cluttering my stuff, down sizing my mum's stuff and selling my late husbands two big collections of stuff I've worked on a 'from biggest to smallest' with the aim of making maximum space. What's left is mostly books and from what I can work out those will be cheaper and even worthwhile trying on Amazon. More than 8cm will and under £10 will be sent to the charity shops.

aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter

I'd better hold onto my print out then that clearly shows it!

Re 'the cube' (whether it's a trial or not)

Does anyone know if it has to be a cube - for example if it was a box, say 16cm x 12cm x 10 cm , would that be ok, or wouldn't it be acceptable as it was a non cube?

it just has to fit within the cube that post offices have been given, so non cube items are fine as long as they fully fit within the box.

the 'temporary' thing that post offices have been told is regarding our cardboard cubes - apparently they are working on a permanent solution and the cardboard boxes are just temporary...so obviously not the exception itself!

Can anyone help me, I don't really understand all this stuff :/

I have a load of DVDs and CDs I want to sell...how much will these go up? They were £1.10 before.
The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!

Have you checked the new prices on the PDF on one of the first posts on this thread ?

Assuming they are between 100g - 250g and can go as a large letter then they haven't changed, but check for your self against the guidelines.

Hi, have read through quite a bit of this thread and Royal Mail site several times and I'm still confused! Where do I find a copy/print out/download of the proper price guide, ie the one you can pick up in a PO (only they haven't been delivered yet!)? I'm confused about parcel prices as the only ones I can find on RM site all say 'price from'. I thought it meant the lowest price for standard but Recorded Delivery also states 'from prices'. ie: 1st class from £3, 2nd class from £2.60 etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Prices from' , each weight band is still a different price. The bands are just a bit wider now.
