I've just bought a few sample 6" cubed mailing boxes from ebay and popped down to my P.O. to see how easily they fit into their cardboard cube guides. 'Snug' just about describes it!

Glad I tried it out as I now know not to go mad with the brown tape when making up the boxes and to use a label rather than a document pouch - my OBA call-back can't come soon enough......

Just checked. ISF and Airsure will still come with £50 compo as standard. Page 19...

To be frank I am struggling with finding the actual small print for a lot of these changes, which is why I thought I ought to double check on here. Thank you for your help.

USA is Zone 1 (ROW) so it should only be...

My mail centre still has no cube gauges so I haven't checked mine but i am slightly worried as they are a miniscule over 6inches so with tape will be pushing the limit. However I spoke to the manager and he says they ar ehappy that my new boxes were sold as 6 inch cubes and will take them regardless, and points out the obvious- he couldn't check them even if he wanted to ! They 'cancel' my items as soon as I hand them over and sort immediately so I really like them there and am sorry my larger items will now be going via courier.

I did try my local Crown PO as well but they claim to know nothing about the exemption and only have the new 3 slot gauge.

Got my OBA call-back today, missed the call but rang back at 4.45pm only to find...yep, all gone home The answer machine message actually said she was off until the 9th but sod that, I'm sure SOMEONE can help me before then!

Just to update this slightly that without knowing about strike action that most post offices in Scotland should be open Friday and Saturday as normal, only holiday day here is Monday.

6" cube

Not sure if this is a silly question but when it says 6" cube does that mean exactly 6" cube or any size smaller box with max dimension of 6", i.e. would a 4" cube be OK?

Yes as the 6 inches is the maximum.
