Don't forget people today is the last day that some Crown Post Offices will be open before the prices go up. It is worth checking whether the PO you use is striking on Saturday or not- and adjust your prices accordingly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Does anyone think we need a sticky for a few days with a warning about the price increases for those that are not regular on here- particualrly with the possibility of some Crown POs being on strike Saturday?
We could leave the sticky up until say Wednesday and then just take it down?
Good idea or pointless waste of time?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The maximum amount you can charge for Postage has gone up to £7 in the clothing category now ( whether a customer will be happy paying that though )........As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0

I'm surprised it hasn't been on the news yet. I've still not seen anything on Ebay or Amazon about it, for buyers or sellers. I know there has been something on Ebay but it's hardly flagged up.
I've just reduced the one item that I was able to (750-1kg small packet, down from £3.50 to £2.60) but had to hike up world post, although sales there tailed off at the last price hike..0 -
I think if the stamp price had risen, it would have made the news. Most people don't send that many parcels.
One could say very sneaky on the part of Royal Mail, but that would be cynical.0 -
My mother lives in one of those retirment blocks and they get all sorts of free magazines aimed at the retired and elderly.
One of them has reassured readers that postage has remained unchanged . Absolutely fine if they mean just letters and large letters but sending parcels etc to grandchildren etc may come as a bit of a shock.
Several of my mum's friends still send easter eggs through the post- thank heavens they got all those postaed at £2.20 before the prices went up!
My mother also receievs a small Royal Mail pension as my step father worked there for 50 years, and none of the little chatty newsletters she has received mention any changes at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorry I'm being thick here but can someone confirm I am doing this right.
I am pricing up some postage and I have an item worth £50 and just under 1kg wrapped I want to quote for the US so will need tracking and additional insurance.
So I need airmail + international signed for + extra compensation.
So £13.25 + £5.30 + £7.90 = £26.45I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. 999grams would be £19.23 for ISF. Airsure is only slightly more at £19.480 -
You don't need the extra compensation as ISF already covers up to £50

Thank you, you can see I don't have to do this very often. Usually it would just go standard airmail but with the compo level now reduced to £20 I don't want to risk this- and I think this is likely to get sold to a US buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
