Which? are reporting a number of ex-O2 customers who have been hit with non-TV and line rental surcharges, despite promises to the contrary:

I've just been on the phone on their "dedicated line", and they Do confirm the original offer (it's actually a credit worth 10 month internet which should be added to my account). They said that they will get the original guy who made the offer to call me back this afternoon and add the credit on my account online.... We'll see!

But they'd already had 10 days to do that on your account.
What I don't understand is why the 'view your package' section within mysky has absolutely no info about what price you pay, be it the standard rate or a special offer? All it shows are the products you have contracted for.
The agent I spoke to assured me that the details were being entered into my account as I spoke to him. If it's not done at that point, it's surely not going to happen later?

yes I said that to them and he seemed to say that it's the responsibility of the original guy who made the deal (and that he is going to get "a slap on the wrist" for not doing so. I'll ask again this afternoon when they call me back and let you know)
  • I've just phoned them to express my dissatisfaction and they have said that the billing emails that have gone out are very poorly worded to make it seem like you are being penalised for not having tv and phone with them, when in fact it is just that if you did have these services you would get a discount. They have agreed to reduce my monthly amount to £5 per month and to apply a £20 credit which mean that my Jan/Feb bill will be nil and there will be alittle credit left towards the March bill. They are also sending me a new Sky hub FOC. I am happy with this and have to say that the customer service that I received during my call was excellent. The guy also agreed to send me an email confirming the new terms that I had agreed to. I've just set up my online account and can see that the £20 credit has already been applied so pretty quick!

I fear that they have managed to get you into a 12 month contract on the cheap (for them).

When you migrate you are not in a contract.

They have been paying massive bribes to get people previously on a free o2 deal to enter a new contract including £75 credit.

I was aware of that, but with the £75 credit, if I want to leave and break my 12 months contract at any point, the only thing to pay would be the £15 remaining to pay on my contract, which I find acceptable...
  • MY BT broadband will be installed tomorrow. Then Sky can foxtrott oscar.

*The early termination charge will not be more than the charges you would have paid for your products for the remainder of the minimum term less any costs we save, including the cost of no longer providing you with the relevant products.

which, if I understand properly (and this has been confirmed to me by their customer services), would be £15? Am I missing something?
  • I've just called them back to say that I have heard that people are receiving up to £75 for signing up to a 12 mths contract and I was only offered £20 when I called earlier. They have agreed to put a futher credit of £50 onto my account. So doesn't this mean I will now have more in credit than 12 mths @ £5 would cost anyway?
