Help. I was away and kind of let this slide.

Now it seems like Sky have just moved me over on a new contract which includes CHARGES for services they aren't providing me:
Supplement for not having Sky Talk £5.00
Supplement for not having Sky TV £.2.50

Taking rip-off to a new level and meaning I'm now paying more than double what I was paying with o2. !!!!!!??

So that means they are charging you £7.50pm. What was O2 charging you? I doubt it was £3.75pm unless you were on a special retentions deal.
I didn't agree to this, so presume that I can just cancel it (since I was out of contract with o2).

Are there any good deals out there? Like some others here I just feel dirty being with anything that involves SKY - unless they are gonna offer me a can't say no deal.

You can cancel if you want but if you had been keeping an eye on it and contacted them before transferring you could have got it for £5pm with a £40 credit.

I would imagine they are charging the guy £15, if they are not taking Talk/Line rental and Sky TV, before any discounts.

Sky told me that ex 02 customers are a "special case" and do not need to have Line Rental. But this means you will not get the best deal but can negotiate them down to £5 per month, although I received a letter to say I would be paying £7.50 p/m. I was paying 02 £4.75 and my contract did not finish until Feb. Did not transfer early because I thought, like you, that you had to have Line Rental with SKY and my deal with BT did not finish until Jan. 2014.

I agree as it seems to be £15. However everyone seems to be receiving a £7.50 Welcome Discount which makes everyone's offer to be £7.50.

My initial offer was Sky BB Unlimited at £12.50 - this is because I have Sky TV.

My Welcome Discount was £7.50 for the first 12 months.

    Monthly price was £5pm.

My friend's initial offer was £15pm as she doesn't have Sky TV or Sky Talk.

Welcome Discount was £7.50 for first 12 months.

    Monthly price was £7.50pm.

The Sky bill can be confusing as it shows the price you are paying and then talks about supplements for non-services. However it doesn't add those supplements.

Then again I don't have Sky tv (or O2/Sky telephone line) and I was offered £5 plus £40 credit

Yes as was my friend after she told them she didn't want to migrate early as she was still on her O2 free BB deal. She had originally been told she would migrate and it would cost her £7.50pm with no tie in as she had no Sky TV and no Sky Talk.

The point was that with the normal migration, that's what you will be offered.

Deals that you may make with them to migrate will be subject to a 12 months minimum contract and are a whole different ballgame.

Nope, they're just the charges - which even in isolation are more than the £6pcm I was paying o2 for the same (or more than likely even inferior service).

TBH I don't see any logical reason why they couldn't offer the same. It's not like they have exclusivity or could offer a service any better than most of the other companies. The only advantage any of them would have over another is simply by being the cheapest.

What exactly were you being charged?

What O2 package were you on? As there isn't one for £6pm you would have to have been on a half-price deal as a retentions deal.

I and others actually find the Sky broadband service to be better. Mine is certainly faster and has only had one break in service, over two months, and that was not due to local issues.

At the risk of being told off for repeating, as this has been explained several times before on this forum : you are not paying all those charges that you list.

The cost will be £7.50, which is the price I first paid on joining O2 (£12.50 if no mobile contract), a number of years ago.

Instead of stating that broadband alone is £15, then deducting £5 for having Talk and £2.50 for having tv, making £7.50, Sky state £7.50 , then 'add' supplements of £5+£2.50 to make £15, but then give you a discount of £7.50, bringing the price back to £7.50.
