    Good news

I had reply back to my email. They have removed the Early Termination Charges.

Next time ask for it in writing by email, when someone tells you such things on the phone...

Thanks, actually I did have it on writing but forgot about it. I only remembered after I sent the email. I thought I will wait for the reply before saying anything to them. Since they removed the charges.

Before I phoned o2 to leave, I had a chat online, so I had transcript of the conversation.

But thank you for your suggestion.

I just phoned for my MAC code to go to TalkTalk but Sky persuaded me to stay with -
£7.50 a month Line Rental (weekend calls)
    £2.50 a month Broadband

Ni hao. I'm out of contract and my 02 mobile 50% discount deal is over. So, needless to say paying £12.50 a month for broadband only is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.
What are my best options? Change to a new company (if so which?) or call the "retentions line" and try and haggle a new much cheaper contract?

  • I'm sure they'll put you through to SKY for negotiations.

Have a read up in the last few pages of this thread to see the latest deals sky are offering o2 customers to migrate from o2 early and take a 12 month bb contract:

  • I've got to hang my head in shame...I migrated to Sky when they offered me a deal that I just couldn't refuse (after I said I wouldn't touch them with the proverbial).

What's worse, is that the set-up was very fast & problem free - unlike my old O2 one. Even worse, the speeds are better than O2 and what I used to get. Worse...I prefer the Sky hub. :(

I prostrate myself before the forum. :o

I'm very happy with my new Sky set-up and I feel terrible about it. :o
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

    S

Same here, but I don't feel terrible.

Let's hope there's another good one, when the 12 month offer is up.

Help. I was away and kind of let this slide.

Now it seems like Sky have just moved me over on a new contract which includes CHARGES for services they aren't providing me:

Supplement for not having Sky Talk £5.00
Supplement for not having Sky TV £.2.50

Taking rip-off to a new level and meaning I'm now paying more than double what I was paying with o2. !!!!!!??

I didn't agree to this, so presume that I can just cancel it (since I was out of contract with o2).

Are there any good deals out there? Like some others here I just feel dirty being with anything that involves SKY - unless they are gonna offer me a can't say no deal.

I am getting the same problem. You can phone SKY and tell them you are leaving, you will probably get a slightly better deal and YES, as Sky have taken over your contract you are free to leave at any time. Try PlusNet.
