What exactly were you being charged?

Now they are saying my next bill is £30 as they are also trying to charge me for November (which I've already paid to "o2").

What O2 package were you on? As there isn't one for £6pm you would have to have been on a half-price deal as a retentions deal.
Actually it was £6.25. As I had been a PAYG o2 mobile customer for years. But the fact still remains, over double the price for the same or inferior service is not what I'd call progress.

Been looking around, it seems Plusnet offer broadband for £2.75 a month. I doubt anyone is going to beat that.

If you have paid o2 but were actually transferred to sky, then you need to pursue o2 for a refund.

There's usually a catch when Plusnet offer £2.75. Only as long as you go to them for line rental too!

My changeover date to Sky exactly matched my leaving date on the O2 bill. Perhaps you need to check both?

I assume the BB is the only service you have with Sky? Perhaps you could quote the full bill exactly as it is listed?

There is and never has been a tariff with O2 that costs £6.25 even with the mobile discount. I was on the original legacy Standard tariff which, with the mobile discount, was £9.50 - used to be £7.50 until they introduced the new traffic managed tariffs.

What was the name of your tariff on O2? I suspect it was the £12.50 All Rounder tariff which you seem to have had a half price deal on.

Don't see that on their website. Do you have a link?

Current plusnet offer is £1.99/month unlimited bb + £14.50/month line rental for a 12 month contract.

    Plus £40 cashback at tcb

    .

Sky's first bill is larger because they charge for connection date to billing date, plus a month in advance.

What exactly(please list items) is the £30 for ?

As has been said, if you want the cheap Plusnet broadband, you have to take their phone.

Well, my turn to change my mind and stay with Sky after they offer on year of free line rental + 10 month free internet (fast broadband unlimited). £7.5 per month to pay for the last 2 month... That's £1.25 per month for telephone+broadband for the next year!

Has anyone noticed the vast reduction in download speed, still waiting for sky to actually transfer me over. Was getting about 8mbs, but only getting 0.6 now, which is ridiculous.

It will reduce for the first few days. Mine did and then improved on O2's speed.

Cant see it improving though, exchange i am on, it is unbundled and had o2 equipment in. No sign of SKY in this exchange.

So am contemplating TalkTalk, i know there customer service is rubbish but speed wise, would be a whole lot better.

I've been an O2 broadband customer for several years and have enjoyed their service, I was therefore a little dismayed when I was informed that they were being taken up by Sky and was considering going to another provider such as Plusnet.

However I fell for the sales call “ Join Sky and we’ll give you free broadband and Sky TV for a year” they also added that if I paid approx. another £20 then I could have the full package including Movies and Sports.
I asked the pleasant sounding sales guy if I could take the deal but come back to them and upgrade to the full package if I decided to get it, “yes of course you can no problem” was the reply

So I booked an engineer just before xmas and all was well, before the engineer came I called up to ask if I could take them up on their offer of the full Sky package – I was shocked that the answer was a straight “No that offer isn’t available” I asked them to check the notes from the original call but was informed that they were on a different system. Given that it was clear that Sky weren’t being quite so honest somewhere along the line I asked for my install to be rescheduled until we could sort out the issue with the TV so this was changed to the 10th Jan.
I pushed the promised deal and after several more calls I was told someone would look into it.
The next day I received a pleasant call from a lady advising that they would in fact honour the deal and that everything was back on track.
So on the 10th Jan I stayed at home and waited all day, to no avail though as no Sky engineer arrived, I called up again and was told in a very matter of fact tone “Oh it seems that the system has cancelled your order, the last operative wouldn’t have known this”
Ok can you start it up again please I asked – I was surprised to be told I would have to start an application again and that the offer was not available to me.
    No amount of reasoning that
    a. I was a new customer surely you’d want to treat me better than this?
    b. You have promised this and I’ve already been around the loop.
    c. I didn’t cancel hence why do I have to start again
Didn’t make any difference, it was a case of tough, it’s happened,, you’ll have to wait and see what we can do, we can’t give you an install date.

So a week later now on the 18th and still no resolution, no deal, no install date and absolutely no customer service.

To make things worse I was told that I was now “in contract” for my internet and no matter that they had sold it as a package the T & C’s made this effectively two packages and I am stuck with the internet.

So my advice to any O2 customers considering a switch is beware, they suggest some great offers but they appear from my experience to be false and to be quite honest fraudulent.

Anyone else thinking of joining Sky, take a look at their total disregard for the customer, they are clearly too comfortable within their monopoly and again from my experience I would look elsewhere.
