Sky buyout of O2 Broadband

I didn't ask but assume from reading this thread that the free 12 months broadband only applies if you also have o2 as your home phone provider.
Of course, I could be wrong but if they gave you your broadband for nothing they would be making no money out of you at all.
You are wrong , I have an offer of 12 months on file which I have not yet agreed to and my phoneline is BT.0 -

I've just seen on the O2 forum thread (well, one of...) that some people are even told they could leave the 12 months free contract without any penalty, just 7 days notice!

I was told that.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Has anyone had success getting the £100 credit using somebody elses mobile. I have my girlfriends O2 mobile linked to the account but they said they couldnt give the £100 credit because it's not in my name:(0

My mobile is my daughter's but I pay. They were adamant that it had to be in my name to qualify.
After all, they are keeping this side of the operation so are trying to keep their mobile customers loyal. I suppose in this case you are the customer not your gf.0 -

So did you get the £100 even though the phone contract is in your daughters name?0 -
Called them just under 2 weeks ago as we'd planned on going to BT, they offered us free 12 months as well (we have no phone line with O2 but DD has a rolling sim contract at £14 a month in our name). We were told as long as the phone contract was active we could have 12 months free. Brilliant.
Then the news broke about sky. My neighbour has sky. My neighbour is always moaning about speeds, outages etc. I certainly didn't wan't to join sky's empire.
We were actually on day 13 of the 14 day cooling off so I consider that a very lucky escape indeed. Mac code is now obtained and it's bye bye O2.0 -
I renewed my bb contract in November. Called and asked for my MAC code and was offered the 12 months free only if I had an o2 number, which I don't.... Everyone I know with one is using their's for bb too!
Anyone offered this without an o2 number?
I guess they've made a note that they sent me the MAC code so no trying my luck with another worker?I have enough money to last me the rest of my life... unless I buy something.0
