Also, Sky offer fibre in my area. If I'm going to transfer to Sky I'd like to go on their fibre service. O2 suggested to me that I could transfer directly to the Sky fibre service but I'm not convinced by what she said. Anyone here know?

    Thanks
That is what Sky are saying.
Sky said O2 and BE's broadband customers will be switched to its all-fibre network and that it might also pay up to £20 million to Telefonica UK for the successful completion of the migration process.

I have just been offered and accepted the 12 months free and they have sent me an email Thanks for switching to Broadband standard 12 months. We hope you continue to enjoy O2 Broadband. If only icon9.gif

If it makes you feel better, I wasn't on a 12 month contract:)

Just rang them to get my MAC code. Got offered 12 months free and £100 mobile allowance. Politely declined.

If you read the thread (and similar forums across the net) you will see many reports where people in long contracts have been given this deal.

Don't think it will apply anymore? Sky won't have access to mobile accounts and cant discount a zero payment ;)

I don't like Rupert Murdoch but I'm a pragmatist so have just renewed my o2 legacy contract with 12 months free. All I pay is the line rental on my o2 home phone of £16.25 a month.
