Which one is best when it comes to peer to peer?0

Your looking for an ISP that doesn't 'throttle' P2P.
I can only comment on the ISP's I've been with
Eclipse: Terrible ISP and they do 'throttle' P2P.
Newnet: Excellent service but expensive.
Entanet: Excellent service and good price.
Also if you plan on transferring a lot of data, make sure you have an idea of any caps on the service. My current ISP Entanet have a 30/300 cap (30GB peaktime/300 off-peak). This is a monthly cap.0 -

Thank you for the above!
I found Entanet website but there are no prices and checking facilities if their services are available in my area... I got their prices from http://www.thinkbroadband.com/isp/entanet but don't know if they are still actual and if they provide modem, migration, etc... Could you provide more information (maybe into private)
I am with TalkTalk on 2Mb/s unlimited at the moment (max they could upgrade at an extra cost! otherwise they can offer only Free broadband but with the 40GB allowance). I've had no problem with the actual internet for 2.5 years of my custom, but their cusomer service is very poor and few times they game me wrong/incompetent information. But I guess with other providers could be worse...
At the moment I am looking for an unlimited broadband at the speed of 2+ Mb/s for less than STE17.00/month that doesn't 'throttle' P2P. Any other suggestions?0 -
Vispa ISP and phone - I have no connection with the company.
Martin's latest article on combined phone and broadband is still "recommending" TalkTalk - one of the least rated broadband suppliers out there. I suggest you take a look at Vispa's Home package = A1.
Line rental; broadband; 300 mintes of calls /m for £29/m It's not the cheapest but is completely hassle free with UK support.Mark the Flyingvet :A0 -
Hi,
im just doing some investigating for friend...
he lives in a rented flat with no phone line. He told me yesterday that he has just signed a new mobile contract with O2 for £25 per month. I think that is a lot seeing as he does not use his phone much and thought he could probably get it lower with somebody else and get broadband/ tv in as well. Luckily he has 30 days to change his mind.
So my questions are:
1) Can he get broadband without a phone line?
2) Is there a package with virgin that will let him do this?
3) For somebody who is not too good at arguing his case, what is the best outcome he is likely to get regarding bb\mobile\tv etc?
thanks0 -

Entanet sell their product through a series of resellers. I'm with Vivaciti; www.vivaciti.net
If you get a MAC code from your current ISP then migration is free. You won't get any free hardware but to be honest that's a gimmick. The stuff given away for free can be picked up for £5 on eBay!
Other than the really dreadful ISP's I would be very surprised if you found an ISP for £17 or less. I don't know of any GOOD isp's at that price. I have a fixed 2MB line. My BT line is terrible so the best I could get with a Max product was 3MB. When I was on a Max product I got 3MB for 3 days out of 6 months! In the end I went for a fixed line as I was sick of the speeds going up and down and being told by BT that is was on an up to service. The problem wasn't the up to, it was what it went down to!
So for £19.99 I get solid 2MB, never drops. If I need to call Vivaciti they are quite superb and will always call you back, even at weekends. I can't recommend them highly enough. It maybe £2-£3 more than your wanting to spend but your buying real quality. There is no contract so you can leave at anytime. In this day and age its a mistake to take broadband contract of 12-18mths.
I speak as someone who works on a cable companies tech support desk ( I don't live in a cabled area before anyone asks why I have BT based broadband)0 -
Hi all,
Sorry i have not put this on sooner.
I have been with AOL Broadband for some time and have always been happy with the customer service, and i wanted to stay with them.
I just wanted to share with people that i am currently on the 2Mbps unlimited silver wireless package and for the last 7 months i have instead of paying the 14.99 a month(still current price) i managed to bring them down to 9.99 including a free wireless router if i renewed my contract for a further 12mths (5 mths left now)
This took a bit of persuading but after a push and suggesting they must have a retention fund they gave in.
Be aware they tried to increase the price back to 14.99 which i noticed the other week hoping i would not notice, i contacted them and they made a claim it was a six month offer to me. I argued the case in less than 4 min claiming nobody informed me of this at the time and we had a verbal contract, the guy on the other end did not even argue and reverted it back to 9.99. Not only this but he wanted to offer me the free evening calls (which had not at the time been launched) but now is advertised as part of this package, but i declined this as i need to make a decision there and then.
I know this is not one of the fastest but for what i need and being unlimited is fine and fast enough for for me.
Hopefully in another five months as every year i will try and do the same for an even lower price, although next time i am going to ask for my package speed to be increased but for the same if not cheaper price...watch this space!0 -

Yes, it does but what is the reality???
Do they allow p2p or ban it???
Is their speed really 2Mb/s
Please kindly those who are with Tiscali share your experience as previosuly vast majority of reviews are very negative.
Thank you0 -
