  • @ sam, deffinately not bt. for starters if they really said 19.99 pm, it should be 18.99 for the 1st 6 months then 24.99 after. you can get better speeds and real unlimited downloads other places (bethere.co.uk, eclipse) for £14.00 a month.

pipex w/ 2GB useage @ 9.99 seems better than plusnet 1GB @ 9.99, though you can add line rental + off peak calls to the plusnet deal for an extra 9.99, and there's no way pipex's customer support are gonna touch plusnet. then again, i'd be worried about anything less than 4 GB. I use up a gig a week purely though regular surfing (no youtube or myspace). as soon as you start downloading any files such as tv, movies, albums, game patches, software etc you can be looking at a minimum 0.1 Gb per file. basically five 30 minute shows off bbc's iplayer is gonna be 1 GB, actually more as you'll be uploading at the same time too.

if you're happy to get rid of BT then tiscalli or talktalk will do cheap landline + broadband deals, though questionable quality.

and whatever you do, do not get sucked in to paying for a modem / router, or paying more because one's included. I just got a home hub + phone off ebay for £7.50. It'd be £30 if it was included with a bt broadband package, or £160 if purchased from bt without a package.

thankyou.I have checked and as i am in the country i cannot get the free broadband with any of the deals ie talk talk, tiscali etc.so their deals are roughly the same as bt.my biil for the last qtr is 167.59 and out of that 40 was calls!they charge 4.50 for payment processing fees and i want out!
  • I am looking to get broadband ad have come up with 2 possibilities.

O2 seem to be offering a good deal and as I already have an O2 contract I thought this may be worthwhile.

The other option would be Sky and get the 3 for £26pm.

Are either of these worthwhile or would I be better off going elsewhere?
  • i have decided to go with virgin 10 month deal.just waiting for the switchover.

PRIMUS Broadband have an offer on - BB up to 8Mb unlimited, free evening & week-end calls, free modem, line rental included - £23.99 per month. Also free calls to Customer Service and Technical line via 0800 number. Not sure if they have
wireless routers but you can get one from EBay at a reasonable price. Tel: 0800 036 3839 for full details. MSE Martin says TalkTalk are the cheapest so have a look at them as well.

See my previus post. Yes it is confusing with all the offers. Talk to Primus and explain you are moving, I believe they have a fixed fee which is reasonable..
