yeah, p2p is allowed and the FuP, from what i've heard, is basically non existent. 50 GB per month is fine, people have said multiple times that is still fine and only a very very small number of people have ever had action taken against them (presumably in the 500 GB pm range). I don't know about packet shaping yet but from what i've seen Be* seem to be pretty highly rated. Only problem with it would be if your exchange isn't LLU'd (I think only ~50% are). Try asking on http://www.beforum.co.uk/forum/default.aspx or http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=beunlimited if you wanna know more.0

I have been with TalkTalk Broadband since they launched it (nearly 3 years?), unlimited. Recently I pushed them to upgrade me to 2Mb/s still unlimited, although they tried to promote their Free Broadband package but I'm sure I use more than their limit of 40Gb pm. BUT they increased their rate to STE17.99 pm despite their promise to keep the same STE14.99 - obviously a sort of a cheating from a few employees (I tried 3 times - different people every time) from their Indian customer service which has recently been extremely poor if any service at all.
Overall happy with the current speed but the price (only Broadband!). Does anyone have similar experience as mine? Any ideas how to bring the price down with still unlimited usage on TalkTalk???0 -

I am with Primus Telecoms for BB and have been very satisfied but now at the end of my 1st year (discounted package) and the rate has jumped. They are offering a new deal but it means an 18-month contract. Have been reading these threads and most ISps seem to have people for and against. Looked at Virgin who are offering a really good deal see :-

Up to 8 Mb per month unmetered, free evening and week-end calls PC Guard protection (whatever that is) and free modem. No connection charge mentioned. All for £10 per month (for the 1st year) if you have a BT line. My daughter is with them and has had no probs. but when you look at the review sites, they get a poor write-up. Any comments ??
PS. I see this is my 1000th post! It has taken 3 years 9 months which is an average of just over 5 per week or 22.2 per month. Think I'll retire."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
I am currently a tiscali broadband customer and habe been for 3 years without any problems. As i am not in a cable area i have my telephone rental thru post office . Now i am looking to upgrade my tiscali to include the telephone rental so i am wondering if i went thru quidco would i still be eligble for the cashback? also can i confirm that i would still not pay anything to bt for the line like at the present with the PO..0

Further to my post above, Primus have a new deal on offer, which started this week. Up to 8Mbps, unlimited download, 12-month contract £14 per month. Free evening and week-end calls to 01/02 numbers with Option2 call plan and phone line remains with BT which I am happy about. Have decided to stick with them as the service has been excellent and they are one of the few companies to offer freephone customer service and tech. support."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

Hi all,
strange happened this Sunday and I wondered if anything similar had happened to other users. I had a call from BT offering to reduce my broadband monthly cost(by £3 per month)IF I agreed to committ to a 12 month contract. Now as I am not used to any companies offering to reduce my costs , I agreed verbally and then began to wonder why this had happened! After a while it dawned on me that I had been surfing for abetter deal on combined phone and broadband, using Yahoo (part owned by BT).
I had been thinking of going to Tiscali, as I am a low user of both services.
I suspect that information may be being shared here, does anyone else have the same or similar experience?OR AM I JUST BEING PARANOID?............:eek:0 -
