  • Just back from our 12 week scan. We have a livewire he was wriggling kicking feet and waving it was amazing don't remember all that with DS. We have moved from 12+2 to 13.
Will be moving over but catlover hope your scan went well x
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

I'm also back from our 12 week scan - wriggly little upside down baby! Waving at us! Sonographer struggled to take pictures as baby was not in a great position but we are over the moon with what we saw on the screen and the blurry upside down pictures that we did get!

Been dated at 12+4 so gained 2 days! Yay!

Good luck to everyone else - hope to see you all on the next thread soon xxxx

Hi all. It's very quiet around here today. Is everyone busy with Christmas preparations?
Many congratulations glimmerofhope and catloverbex. It must have been wonderful to finally see your beans.
Horrid, nasty weather here today. I did the last of my Christmas food shopping at 7.30 this morning so it wasn't busy. I'm saving a lot on alcohol this year ;-) but bought some extra chocolate to compensate. The candy canes are on the tree so I am almost ready now but I still have the cake to ice, mince pies to make and gingerbread trees to bake! DD doesn't make it easy so goodness only knows how I will manage next year.
Freshstart, I'm so sorry. I only just noticed your post. I hope things work out for you. (((hugs))) x
    Love to all. X
  • Fingers crossed everything is ok fresh start.

I rang my local hospital (different hospital to where I had my mc) and said I would like an early scan. Very straight forward & helpful. Scan booked for 3rd jan. By my dates I will be 7+3 by then.

Fingers crossed I get that far.

I finished work today. So relieved. Back in on Monday so not as long off as some of you girls!

I only have christmas day, boxing day and new years day off!

If all goes well though I will be off next Christmas! :p

I am the opposite when it comes to tests, only done one this pregnancy!

Too scared to keep testing plus its getting towards the point now where the tests can get weaker anyway!

I will ring the doctors on Friday as will be 6 weeks then. Hoping I can get my midwife appointment closer to 8 weeks than 10! :o

I could get an early scan but I am going on the ignorance is bliss attitude I think!

Sorry for your bad news devil dolly. It's something I am so aware of (and frightened by!)
Waiting not so patiently on my scan letter to arrive confirming the date. Really hoping it comes this side of Christmas!

Anther silly confession - I do maybe 2 pregnancy tests a week - just to make sure the lines are still dark. I imagine if I had a mc the hormone levels would start to drop?!

Don't waste your money hun. You can test positive with dark lines 2/3 weeks after a miscarriage.

I'm not by any means wanting to scare you, just don't use tests as reassurance, and save your cash for baby clothes or something :)
  • Hey,

I'm very jealous of you ladies getting time off over Christmas, I'm a nurse so over the festive period I only have Christmas Day off. Hopefully next year will be different though.

Has anyone here told family/friends before their 12 week scan? My parents know and my brothers but no one else. Were thinking of telling husbands parents too but I feel I will jinx it even if deep down I want to shout it out to everyone.

By my calculations I'm 7+5 today and waiting to hear about a date for my scan.

Sorry for sad news recently hugs!

    Congratulations on the nice news.
  • Hello All!

I'm super new to this - got our BFP tonight, a few hours ago and now can't sleep with so much going through my mind!

    1. How am I going to avoid drinking over the next week or so without causing suspicion? (Wouldn't be so bad if I had been going on about getting the champers out!)
    2. We moved house a couple of months ago and haven't even swapped doctors yet - so, am I best to go to old doctors and tell them or register with new ones and tell them? Hmmmm!

Clearblue Digi claims I'm 1-2 pregnant, according to first day of last period, approximate due date is 01/09/14 - seems weird seeing that!

It's our first pregnancy so really have no idea what to do but am very exciting/apprehensive - it's going to be a long night!!

  • Hi Alipops and massive congratulations - welcome to the club!

Our dates are pretty close - my EDD is 25th August.

It's absolutely bonkers how, every waking moment I can't stop thinking about it all - it's taken over my life already.

Currently sitting at work - been here nearly an hour already but struggling for motivation. Really hoping we're allowed to leave early but last time I worked a Christmas Eve, the boss has us working here until 4.30pm so hoping he's feeling more festive and generous this year.

    Happy Christmas Eve all
